The Hot Tamales ended the Bear Valley Springs 2009 softball season winning the minor championship when they defeated the Dust Devils, 16-15, on June 19. The Tamales started the game scoring three runs and led, 8-2, at the end of the third inning. The Tamales added four more runs in the fourth while the Dust Devils added three to keep the game close. In the fifth the Dust Devils then scored 10 runs in the fifth and sixth to lead by one run in the bottom of the sixth. The Tamales locked up the title when Audry Moon and Alissa Smith scored on a hit by Kati Creten.

In other BVS playoff action the Tigers won the Coast championship by defeating the Cardinals, 23-7, (in the semi-finals) and then beat the Dodgers, 12-10, in extra innings in the title game.

The White Sox, who defeated the Phillies, 22-13, in the semis were awarded the championship by forfeit when the Cubs could not field a complete team for the final game of the season. The Cubs reached the finals by defeating the Orioles, 10-4.

In the Desert Championship series the As advanced on a forfeit over the Dodgers but were defeated by the Angels, 16-4.
