Caltrans Tehachapi project

Caltrans District 9 Director Tom Hallenbeck and the Caltrans Local Assistant Program announced that two Local Street and Road Highway Safety Improvement Projects have been selected to be constructed in District 9. The first project will be in Inyo County and the second in Tehachapi.

The Tehachapi project is an $84,500 project to widen shoulders, remove existing guardrail, install curb and gutter and extend culverts adjacent to, and around the pedestrian bridge on Valley Boulevard located between Tucker Road and Mountain Avenue. Federal Funds for this project are $76,050.

The Caltrans Local Assistance Program provides personnel that provide engineering, environmental, and administrative support to local agencies from planning through construction. They aid the local agencies, and serve as their primary contact for policy and procedures, program management, and project implementation.
