Firefighters kept a house on the 22000 block of Old Town Road from major damage after a grass fire ignited an outside wall July 2.

Neighbors said the house had been empty for three years and currently is for sale.

The owners had cut the surrounding vegetation but failed to rake away the duff, or the cuttings, which were piled up against the house.

The fire consumed five acres of grass.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
