How are the GAS Prices affecting you?

BY THE WAY, I DO SPEND OVER $300 a month in ALCOHOL.....it's  called regular unleaded at the pump.

I commute, so it's costing me about $40 bucks a commute day in gas right now, Ouch!  I have been brown bagging it and cutting costs wherever I can to help offset the rising prices of gas. I drive a medium sized car, so thank goodness I don't drive a big pick-up, but it still hurts.

How is it affecting you? Why do you think gas prices are going so high already? Is there anything we can do about it?

C~

Wow, Christine, you know you just started a huge debate...not yet but it will be.  Let me think of a few that's gonna be here....BUSH, BUSH, BUSH, IRAQ, POLITICS, SUV's and of course all mighty GREED.  I can't wait to read this one...I'll start popping my popcorn now :)

I agree with the greed part 100% colitas....I hate paying $3 plus a gallon for gas like everyone else does but what choice do we have?

You're funny Colitas!
My opinion, it's seasonal. It happens every year around this time. They are gearing up to gouge us for the summer when they know people will travel a lot.

Canibeyou, this is off the subject but I thought you would want to know that when you insert a picture the way you did, you are the only one that can see it. That's because it's looking at your C drive which we don't have access to. So your blog comment looks like this to us:

If you would like help inserting a picture, let me know and I'll help you.

Hey Blaze, I see the images just fine in Safari, maybe you should get a Mac!  LMAO!

I can see the images too and I have a pc

Greg you're right! I didn't check the properties of the picture before I spewed my knowledge! She did do it correctly. It's not linked to her C drive. The website she is linking to is probably being blocked by my employer. Hey Canibeyou, is that a porn site those pictures are on! LOL! just kidding!

Also Greg. I wish you hadn't told me you were a Mac user. I was starting to like you! <grinning>. You must be a liberal huh! :-)

Blaze, that's very funny that you mentioned the connection between Macs and liberals, it's mostly true and funny as heck!  But I'm the exception, I am a Mac user that is quite conservative.  A lot of Mac users I know are raging liberals!  I do use Windows, though.  Unfortunately there are a lot of programs that I must use that are available only for Windows, so I run Windows directly on my Intel Mac, begrudgingly, however!  I feel as though I have 'soiled' my Mac by putting Windows on it!  But I tell you what, Windows runs better on my Mac than it ever did on my PC!  Apple has made the best PC ever!

canibeyou, nice on being the exception, Mac users rule!  I would have said 'conservative Mac users rule', but I didn't want to offend any liberals.  KIDDING!

Yes, I must use Firefox to see all of the editing buttons, including the little mountain symbol for image upload.

OK, I'm waiting for slam on Macs and Safari cuz it doesn't see the editing buttons.......   Blaze?...... (laughing!)

No Canibeyou!!! Not you too!!!! You're a Mac user too??? And you used to be my favorite porn star!! LOL

Okay, I guess if you're not a Mac user AND a liberal I'll forgive you two. We should be able to still be friends.

Greg, since you're expecting it...I'll let you slide! I only strike when it's unexpected :-). (Even though you need two computers to get through life) <I guess I couldn't resist!>

aero I have heard that joke before, only it was Bush, Chaney and Rice the pilot threw out the window to make millions happy.  lol    As for the Gas prices I can't blame this on Bush although he certainly is not going to do anything to help us on this matter as usual.    I actually have to agree with Blaze on this one... IT IS seasonal, happens every year right before summer no matter who is president.

I'm not into raging, but I am one of those very proud liberals who owns a Mac.... although I also have a PC that I could not do without.

Christine It cost me $25.00 more week now,  than it did just a couple months ago.... irritates me to no end.

Blaze, ouch!

Oh, BTW, how many viruses did your 'spyware' detect on your PC today?!  ;)

My commute is only 100 miles a day and so the fuel costs do add up after awhile. What needs to be done is eliminate the requirement to have all those different summer, winter, emission blends which drives up refining costs and passed onto everyone. In AZ last week, gas was almost 50 cents a gallon cheaper than here. Now, as far as crapintosh vs PC, our house is a mixed bag, 2 of each; and neither operated by a liberal!!

Greg, I don't pay much attention to how many viruses get found and then deleted unless I'm warned that it can't be resolved which never happens as long as I keep my virus definitions up to date. Dealing with this minor problem is just a cost of doing business on such a widely used operating system. Macs don't have the problem because the malicious people creating these viruses don't waste there time on an OS that almost nobody uses. It would be like trying to sabotage all Daewoos in the US. What's the point! <Just jabbn back Greg!, it's all in fun!>

Yeah Blaze, I know it's all in good fun, I get a kick out of it!

As far as gas prices go, one thing consumers can do is to look at more fuel efficient versions of their favorite type of car.  I know that there aren't many fuel efficient large SUV's, but there are many fuel efficient mid size SUV's, and lots of fuel efficient smaller cars.  I drive a Ford Escape Hybrid for commuting to and from work and I love it.  When I go off roading however, I drive my F-150.  If there were a hybrid version of the F-150, I'd be happy to try it.  Other than that, I can't think of anything else we can do other than political activism.

And now for the Global Warming bent:
I drive a hybrid because I would like to reduce my dependence on oil and save money at the pump, not because I want to reduce global warming because there is no such thing, it's all a big farce.  (I'm sure that'll get some people fired up!)

On another note, Blaze have you ever seen that funny e-mail comparing cars to operating systems?!  It was hilarious!  It said something like the Microsoft car would be going along the highway at top speed then completely explode for no reason!  Then it said the Apple car would be well made but cost an absolute fortune and could only drive on 5% of the roads!  Funny stuff!
