Colitas, I like your idea of sending something to the well-deserving vets, however, my face is red with embarassment because I have no clue what the acronym "nbsp" means ~  please do tell.

Every few months I like to send a package of treats to someone overseas. I usually pick a random soldier, and sites like this one make it easy:

(My sincere apologies if anyone is turned-off by me posting another link!)

Don, I don't know what the means either. That happens sometimes when I paste stuff.  I think it is just a "filler".  Like if there is to many blank spaces.  Nothing was printed there, it was space.  So, ignore the nbsp, the rest is accurate.

Thank you, both, for the fast and informative reply concerning this very worthwhile cause.

  (Non-Breaking SPace)

In computing, a non-breaking space (NBSP) is a special space character that prevents an automatic line break (line wrap) at its position. It is also known as a hard space or fixed space. It can also be used to get multiple spaces in a row in systems like HTML that reduce sequences of normal spaces to a single space.

Anything addressed to "A Recovering American Soldier"  sent to the hospital will be automatically discarded for security reasons. http://www.snopes.com/polit...

Sad but true. You can send stuff via the Red Cross, or snopes has links to other organizations that will give you info on how to send stuff to a soldier.
