"Dog" the Bounty Hunter
I know this is old news, but what do you all think about that "Bounty" hunter dude getting into trouble for things he said in his own home? Should he be fired? Should his son get a swift kick in his butt for selling out the highest bidder? Or do you think that this was something that the American people should have known about coming from such a well respected individual, fashion guru, upstanding citizen, and role model from a guy named "Dog". I mean really. I know I am being a little judgmental here, but did it really surprise anyone that a word like that would come out of "his" mouth. Look at him. Look at what he does for a living. He isn't delivering flowers to little old ladies. And the thing that I like the most about this story, is the exact reason he gave for not wanting his son to date the woman is exactly what happen. It was a family matter not a national matter. I mean really, I don't there is one person that can say they could have a video camera or a listen device in the privacy their home 24/7 and not offend someone. Whether it be friends, family, co-workers, bosses, the church, etc. It's not like he was making a speech or a televised event and said these things. It's too much in my opinion. Do I agree with him, no. I don't even like the guy. But that is why I have the choice not watch his show. I don't go around crying that I don't like this guy and he needs to be sued. If what he said was so offensive to a lot a people, which I am sure it was, stop watching his show and eventually the network would lose and pull it. Stay out of his personal life. Just my opinion.

Dog the bounty hunter use of the n word has so far has been his demise. It is a word that is ugly and has negative meaning behind its use. It is a word that is not in my vocabulary. The fact that the dog was using the n word in what was supposed to be a private phone call makes no difference whats so ever. Once the phone call was released to the media it was over. What advertisers in their right minds wants a ''so called'' racist as their spokesman?Only time may heal the wounds so deeply left by the use of the n word.In this case it is really a million dollar word for I'm sure Dog will be losing out on big bucks.

Words are only as powerful as one allows them to be. There's a certain word that used to offend me to no end, but once I read Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues and saw two productions of it, I have "reclaimed" the word and I no longer allow it to have power over me when someone uses it in a derogatory manner. Remember the ditty from childhood, "I'm rubber, you're glue. Mean words bounce off me and stick to you". posted by

Bear with me here, I'm trying to remember what all he said exactly... But if I do remember correctly, didn't he say the "N-word" in reference to his son's girlfriend and that she wouldn't fit into the family? If that's what he said, then I think he's scum. However, I do think it's a private matter as long as he's not going around advocating racism. (Although passing on racism within his family is pretty despicable.) But if people want to watch the show, let them watch. I can't blame the advertisers for pulling their ads though- I would do the same if I were an advertiser too.

I've gone onto the A&E and Dog's websites to register my complaint about the show being removed. The guy is entertaining, even if I wouldn't want him as a neighbor. I would not survive national scrutiny of some of my phone conversations and I think this should have been ignored. I guess the son didn't think he was getting enough of Daddy's money. I don't think every public figure should expect to have their entire life exposed. I think it was okay that Rock Hudson's gender preferences were not public knowledge during his heyday. I think President Kennedy's peccadillos should have been kept private during his time in office. Dog's use of That Word has nothing to do with his show. Too bad the sponsors are so niggardly with their forgiveness. posted by

I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF "THE DOG FOR A LONG TIME AND REALLY HERE WE GO AGAIN AND A CELEBRITY GETS HIS DIRTY LAUNDRY AIRED OUT NATIONALLY. PERSONALLY THE PHONE CONVERSATION WAS BETWEEN HIS SON AND HIMSELF. BESIDES HIS SON SOLD HIS DAD OUT FOR MAJOR BUCKS BECAUSE HE WAS NOT GETTING TO RIDE ON THE DOG BAND WAGON. WHAT A DORK!!!!!! BESIDE WE HAVE ALL DONE SOMETHING WRONG AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER NO ONES PERFECT BUT BECAUSE HE IS WHO HE IS HE GETS SLAMMED WITH ALL THIS POLITICALLY CORRECT BULL ------!!! And do any of you really care about some celeb's personal life or what their new baby looks like. I don't. I watch a movie to be entertained not to get emotionally involved with an actor. I don't like it when the media reports on anyone personal life. Someones drug arrest or suicide attempt is not news to me. It has reach a point with whats her name where it is sad watching her self destruct.What is even sadder is the people that find enjoyment watching her struggle.

My opinion is when you choose to become a household name, when you choose to be in the spotlight, you need to be held accountable for what you do and say in your public and your private life. The limelight isn't a particularily good place to be, everything you say and do gets scrutinized, but that comes with the territory. There are many, many celebrities that have used that word and have been scrutinized for it. As for Dogs son selling out to the highest bidder, to each thier own. No-one knows his true motive behind that was and really, do we care? I don;t think so. What is done is done. Do I think he should be sued? No Do I think that he has a right to his privacy? Sure.........but when you accept a position in the limelight then you need to be aware tht everything you do and say could be used against you. Of course just like the Ellen thing, this is blown out of proportion and became a national problem rather than a personal problem. It makes me wonder how many people really see what is important and what is not important. It seems the media likes to bombard people with stupid stories and issues that really shouldn;t be important, taking the importance off of the things we should be concerened with. Does anyone else remember when CNN was news and not 'entertainment' television?

Hey whats wrong with the name dog? Colitas it would suck if what i say in my own home was recorded and broad casted for all to hear.Because believe it or not I'm not very politically correct. What is said in your own home should stay there. Its the advertisers that advertise on A&E that threatened to pull their ads.I don't think the viewers care. If anything it would most likely make more people watch.Colitas its like you said its dog the bounty hunter we are talking about, Not a presidential Candidate
