Colitas - > Just a Quote -> Has anyone else been Kicked out of a Walmart?
Has anyone else been Kicked out of a Walmart?

Okay, so today I went to walmart with my 22 month old son.  It wasn't planned but my doctor call and said she had faxed over a prescription because some of my blood work came back and I needed ASAP.  So, I changed my son's diaper, made a sipper cup and we hopped in the car and went.  My son loves to take off his socks and shoes at this age, as I am sure a lot of you can relate, so I just took him in his PJ's with the feet in them, you know the one's I am talking about.  Well, it is overcast and raining here so I figured that was the best clothing of course with a hoody on.  So I did some shopping for snacks for lunches and then went up to get my prescription.  I am standing there minding my own business when a women looks at my son and says "Nice outfit".  I smiled and said "excuse me?".  She then precedes to say to my astonishment "Don't ya think you could have put some clothes on your kid before you went out?"  I smiled again and looked around expecting to see someone I knew playing a joke on me....but nothing.  Not one of my shinning moments in life I said "Didn't your mama teach you that if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all!"  She then looks in my cart and says "Your cart is full of snacks and junk,  maybe you should put some of that back and go buy your son some clothes".   Well, needless to say at this point I wasn't using my better judgment and said "Why don't you shut up, mind your own business and get life.  And while you are at it, go to a f**king dentist and get those teeth fix you in-breeded, backwoods hag!!"  Well, she left and I thought wow what just happened.  It is 11:30am not 2 in the morning and I have my kid in walmart.  She did by the way had rotten and missing teeth.  So next thing I know she comes back with a manager and security.  They ask me to leave because I was being threatening and using obscene language.  I told them I was not doing a thing when she came up to me and started talking smack about how I dress my kid.  The manager ask me if I used any foul language and I said "yeah you would have too.  But I never threatened her with physical violence!"  He said "Well I think it would be best if you just leave before we have to call the police."  I said "Fine, but unless you want a law suit I need my medication and I want to her to leave too, or else we can sit here all day long and wait for the police!"  So I got my medication and we both were escorted out of the building.  Now, I know my temper got the best of me and my mouth ran out of my a**, but come on what would some of  you had done?  I am still in disbelief that this happened.  I can't believe I was kicked out of a walmart!!

That lady was very rude to you.  We are living in sad times right now.  Parents need to teach manners to the children, like they used to.

I totally disagree rural. I was raised to "turn the other cheek" and you know what? It's bull. That woman needed to be told off, maybe she will think twice before she butts in again on something she knows nothing about.

The only cheek I turn now is my rear end with a slap on it that means, "Kiss this!"

You still didn't answer the question Countygirl...what did the rudeness displayed by the woman have to with being in Walmart?

Jody, I don't think CG was saying it was okay to be rude because we were in Walmart.  I mean I have seen some real winners in Walmart before.  And a kid in fuzzy warm PJ's doesn't even hit my radar.  I think that is what CG was saying.  Some people don't know how to keep their mouths shut.  Then they are shocked when someone else fires back at them.  That is was I have decided was the issue here.  Because frankly I could have said a lot worse.  In fact I had a quick little flash of ramming her with my cart, but that would have been wrong..lol.  I too have learn to turn the other cheek but also you need to pick your battles.  This was one I couldn't let go of.  So yes Rural, like Joty I agree there are times to ignore but there times when you just can't.  Did I mention that this Walmart is in a farming community in Kentucky where people come in wearing Moo Moo's and soiled farm clothes etc.  Which also brings me to my comment on her being a inbreeded, backwoods hag.  And yes like someone had mentioned earlier, I took offense to someone with rotten teeth telling me to put back lunch goodies and buy some clothes for my kid.  So that is where the Dentist comment came from.  I choose to dress my kid that way because it was overcast and he was warm in what he was wearing.  Hell I would have took it better if she had told me too dress better, I was only in a T-shirt and pants.

Colitas, In my opinion there was nothing wrong with the way your child was dressed, my kids lived in those one piece things until around the age of 3 or 4,  they are great especially since the kid can't take the feet off. That woman must have been on a real trip that day to insult you like that; I give you a thumbs up for standing up to her, I would have done nothing less and maybe I would have said more, I am sure I would have at least told her a simple 2 word phrase  starting with "F" and the other with "Y". I guess I would have been joining you on the list of Walmart outcasts. Have a great day. The comment about her teeth ---she deserved it!! the old crack whore.

No, I didn't say CG was saying it was ok to be rude cuz you were in Walmart. What I got from CG and the other person who made a comment about WM was "well, what did you expect? It was Walmart". As though the location was the reason for the woman's rudeness.

So, are you allowed back in? Or do you have get a new pharmacy? I got 86'd out of a Howard Johnson's once. Course I was so drunk I knocked over the DJ's stand...

I don't expect a whole lot being at a Walmart- not very many people there are on their best behavior.  I've had people say awful things to me, but I never get that snappy response in because I'm always too shocked.  (And I'm not very quick, so I don't think of anything to say until ten minutes later anyway.)  I think you did a great job!

I take my son out in just socks all the time, but he's just starting to learn how to take them off.  I'm happy if he's even dressed warmly whenever I ask my husband to get him ready to go somewhere (sigh).  It could be 30 outside and he'll take my son out of the carseat, no socks, no jacket, and say "Well, we're going right inside anyway.  He'll be fine."  So I have to wrap my son in my coat with me while we walk inside.  And I had to take him out to a restaurant with feet jammies the other day when we were at my parents house and he had a diaper disaster and the jammies were the only spare clothes I had for him.  So basically, I don't assume anything when I see kids that aren't dressed perfectly.

Yeah, I think I can go back in unless I am on some top 10 list...lol.  But I am going to change back to Rite Aid for my meds.  WM takes too long.  And yes I love the crack whore comment, and it did pass my mind to say that but I didn't want to be too rude..=)

OMG , I can't believe someone from "there" said that to you. And I can say this because I am close to you(geographically, LOL) and also know you personally. O man I wish I was there with you, sheesh, I miss all the fun LOL....But honestly, most everyone in this part of the country is so laid back and I've seen kids and adults go into Wal Mart dressed a lot worse or dragging little kids out in the middle of the night just  for something to do....and I can understand, you can say something to me personally but say something about or to my kid that is uncalled for and you can believe Mama Bear's gonna get her claws out! Gosh I love it out here.....people can treat you like family out here, even to the point of being rude LOL

Just remember that the hardest people to get along with are the mentally ill...sounds like this women was.  Apparently she has never been to the Lancaster Mall.  The last time I was there I saw people in their PJ's (flannel pants and old tshirt) and slippers walking around.
