He is being held hostage next to a mother and her puppies!!! OK, slight exageration, but he does need a new home or a foster home. Gray kitten was rescued when I went to see some dogs kept at a vacant lot in Mojave..I just couldn't leave him there. He was just neutered and got his kitty shot on May 13th. He's only about five pounds and putting on weight now that he's getting regular meals. He is maybe 6 months old and friendly (he also has quite the purr motor) and will let you pick him up. He has nice silky long gray hair and loves to be stroked. I have to keep him prisoner in the barn kennel as he is so small and skinny that he could get out of the outside fence and that would be the end of him out here. So, he's stick in kitty jail, next to, ugh..newborn puppies! (See other blog on THAT situation!) He also needs a name! Any potential foster homes or better yet, adoptive families out there? This little guy wouldn't take up much space at all....one more cat...please help this little guy? See him online at www.caninecanyonranch.org or call Leslie at 661-823-0111
This is normally a haven for big mutts. But these two have been waiting for a spot at camp for almost two months. Meet Morcie and Brandy, purebred black labradors, who arrived this past weekend. Morcie (male) is 5 and Brandy (female) is 4. They had a loving home in Bakersfield, but their previous owners were worried that they couldn't spend enough time with them, so here they are, along with their very impressively long pedigrees. They could care less, but just in case, I wanted to let you know that their names are official...and very loooonnnggggg. They are both fixed with all shots and quite social with the gang here at the ranch. They are housebroken and just, well, typical labradors. They are past the puppy stage at 4 and 5 BUT they still want to play. They like to ride in the car, pull their leashes (and you), but just have that irrestible labness about them. They could be adopted together or separately (I don't think they'd notice, honestly) and they are quite ready to get a new family and leave the ranch. Give us a call at 661-823-0111 or email to caninecanyonranch@wildblue.net. They can also be seen on our website at www.caninecanyonranch.org or on Petfinder.com. There are also twelve other wonderful foster dogs awaiting new homes at the ranch. Spread the word! Sadly, there are more waiting. Its been a while since I've blogged. Its been VERY busy here at the dog ranch-lots of strays and one just made me a Grandma! Unfortunately I haven't had room for all of them and some had to take a trip down south where they have a chance to get adopted...check the TN next week for a letter on that subjct... Here is Miss Lorelei and her multicolored litter. She was a stray running around Alpine Forest early this Spring and found refuge for a few weeks with Darius up on Matterhorn. He called me and we got her here just in time-she delivered ten puppies on Sunday, May 18th. We've lost two so far and Miss Lorelei and her eight surviving pups are now comfy and warm in the inside barn kennel, right next to Mr. Gray kitten who is just over his quarantine period but is so small at 5 pounds that I can't take the chance he'll escape the outside fence, so he's stuck next to the puppy nursery. Lorelei and her puppies will al be ready for new homes around July 4th...an Independence Day for everyone? Spread the word-PLEASE? Lorelei is about 45 pounds and is a hound mix. She's beautiful, sweet, quiet (except for the occasional bay), VERY housebroken (must be hard to hold the post puppy squirts, but she does!!) and a wonderful mom. She is a beautiful black and tan mix and has a glossy black coat. The puppies are three white/yellow lab looking, four black and white and one brown mutt. We'll see how they look in a few weeks. I usually don't have any small dogs here, much less puppies, so this was a wonderful experience for me..and for the sisxteen other dogs in the main house who keep wondering where Mom goes for such long periods of time. The pups are very happily sucking milk and laying on the heating pad I stole from hubby (if you see Mike limping around at BSE Rents, you'll know why!!) and the twelve fosters are getting fat laying around in the sun, so if you know anyone looking for a companion, or a skinny little gray kitten, please have them call me at 661-823-0111. Check out my website at www.caninecanyonranch.org too-Sparks did a fantastic job and she'll be over soon fro some puppy love! With puppy love from Dogmomma at Canine Canyon Ranch |
