Fireworks Illegal in Tehachapi!!!!!!

During this dangerous fire season that has already charred tens of thousands of acres and destroyed many homes, and it is just getting started. Lets remember that all fireworks are illegal in Tehachapi, the fuels are extremely dry this year, and all it takes is one person to shoot a firework and burn down a house, or worse start a massive wildfire like the Piute fire, and risk many peoples houses and lives. If you see someone using fireworks don't be afraid to call Law Enforcement or the Fire Dept and report them, it could save your house or your neighbors, or many in the community if it were to start a wildfire. WE DON'T WANT TEHACHAPI TO BE THE SCENE OF THE NEXT MAJOR CALIFORNIA WILDFIRE

this year I think I'll just give my kids road flares to runaround and play with when it gets dark on the 4th................Flares work a lot better and last longer then sparklers.

Have fun on the 4th..............

Yeah "Safe and Sane" does not come close to describing fireworks.  We have not had personal fireworks for at least 25 years.  The local show are are lot better than those boxes of stuff my parents used to buy.  Live and progress.  Have a safe 4TH and keep celebrating our country.

I personally think fireworks should be illegal period (not the displays put on by the professionals). It never fails, each year we hear about some stupid idiot that has blown his hand off...or burned down his neighbor's house. Back when we were young, stupid and drinking we used to drive out to the reservation and buy the really hardcore stuff.

FF  Oh,  OK ...thanks a lot.  They make me nervious being in the house.  I didn't realize there were so many fire crackers in each box. I only used one box of them last year..and it was no big thrill IMO.

Gube, wow really?  interesting...I thought it was dry this year too...dusty up here.

FF did you take these pics......wow....great pics...........................

My folks have this indoor swamp cooler and it has a pan that catches the condensation......Last year they constantly were emptying it......This year is so dry they haven't emptied it once........The super dry conditions is scary......thanks for posting this FF.

Take them to your local fire station, they will properly dispose of them.

I have a couple of boxes of fireworks still from last year...  I simply wasn't interested in them.  I still don't care about them.   Anyone know of a safe way to get rid of fire crackers?

Good Post! I think especially after the incident at the Depot people are very aware of the dangers. Hopefully this is a safe and fun holiday for everybody!
