The iPhone is da bomb!
The iPhone really is everything it's cracked up to be, and more.  For those that use a cell phone, a Palm Pilot, and an iPod, this unit combines all three.  Apple took a very mediocre piece of technology (the cell phone) and Apple-ized it.  They've created the best user interface ever and it will change the way people use cell phones and PDA's, raising the bar and forcing other manufacturers to make devices that are easy to use and intuitive.  What a concept!

These pictures of the screen don't look nearly as good as it does in person.  Taking a digital picture of a digital screen doesn't always look so great.

Hi Greg the pictures look great.... so is the iphone fast? I have heard it takes a long time to load web pages. My husband recently got the computer phone from Verison and it’s not all that impressive I mean he can get his emails but there are not any graphics along with it just text. I bet within a year Verison will step up with their version of the iphone and we can upgrade yet again.... enjoy your new toy and thanks for the pictures I think they came out just great.

Katz, the phone itself is fast and uses two types of data service, the AT&T Edge service which is over the cellular network, or local Wi-Fi.  If you are in range of a local Wi-Fi network, like I have at home, the speed is pretty fast.  Of course that assumes that your internet connection is a decent speed.  If you are not in range of Wi-Fi the phone reverts to the Edge network and it's speed can vary depending on cellular load and cell site visibility.  AT&T wireless doesn't have the best data speeds, but hopefully they will improve, and the iPhone will 'seem' faster.

Hi Greg,

I'd like for you to elaborate on the Wi-Fi speed. Does it support G and N? Does the speed go any higher than 128kbps?

Matt, according to Apple, the iPhone supports 802.11B and G.  They don't say anything about N, maybe for a future device?  I have an AirPort Extreme at my place with pretty good connection speed to the internet and the iPhone works really well and fast with my network.
