Once again the Board of Supervisors gave Harvey Hall everything that he asked for with very little discussion.  He got his monopoly written in stone with the newly confirmed Ambulance Ordinance, a rate increase and a chance to have a vote on double taxation.  He even got a headline in my local paper stating that the average cost of an ambulance ride is $1500?  The bills that my insurance company paid were at least double that.  Even when they arrived too late to transport my dead husband - they billed!

On top of all of the above in the past month,  I had to listen to several Board members literally speak words of wonder about the magnanimous generosity of Harvey.

The Board members obviously have never needed an ambulance that took over an hour to arrive.

Help! We need to get organized as rural communities to improve our emergency medical services.  Has anyone ever heard of a county taxing a community to hire a private contractor (HALL) to improve emergency medical services?

On June 12th the County Board of Supervisors will propose a $125 increase in property taxes for Pine Mountain to improve our emergency medical service.

If it happens here to Pine Mountain, it will set the stage for all of Kern Couty rural areas.
