Bogus Attorney Pleads No Contest
The bogus attorney I hired for my annulment case last November pleads no contest today. After a tip last December, I conducted a four week investigation while on vacation in North Carolina during the holidays. When I returned in January, I handed over 17 pages of evidence to the police and 3 days later she was arrested. She has remained in jail since. Sentencing is scheduled for next month. The good news: She did the right thing by not going to trial and saving me time from testifying in court as well as the state’s court cost. She will have to pay me restitution. (Although I won’t hold my breath for that.) The bad news: For 1 felony count and 1 misdemeanor, she will only do 2 years and 30 days time in state penitentiary. Unfortunately the prior felony convictions in North Carolina did not count. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’ll be out in six months. Yes, telling the truth is always the best way to go. In 99% of the time that will be what comes from me, even if it hurts me. A real problem in my situation was a person in my life not only withheld truth, she lied about her marital status that was vital in my life decisions that would have resulted in a completely different outcome. posted by

I'm glad to see that justice was done. I wish you the best in your other struggles. And remember: keeping a positive attitude and telling the truth is always the best way to go.
