Outdoor Weddings?
Does anyone have any ideas for a location for an outdoor wedding in Tehachapi?  I still cant find anyplace that I just love.  I want a spot that screams "perfect!"

By the way,if the lack of grass is an issue, but the site is otherwise o.k.,you have some options. There are nice roll-out walkways of cedar or bamboo for paths,or pavers that can be laid out. There are even these thin flagstone mats that you can lay down and pour clean sand in the spaces meant for mortar. That could make a temporary walkway or small patio or standing area. You could also set out turf just for the surface or look,or spread out  D.G. for paths..Cocoa hulls look good and smell great under-foot or to cover soil if you pour it that day.If the area lacks an accent, you can always put up a temporary arbor and decorate it with flowers, greens or ribbon.I too love Mtn Park and could see a small ceremony in front of the rock outcropping at the edge of the park. Its so beautifull there at sunset.Add little white lights in the trees,etc...

Maybe you don't need to try too hard to find the spot that's "perfect".Maybe a spot that's not 100% ideal would become that way because you chose it for the setting for your wedding. When you are gazing into the eyes of the one that you love and saying your vows,it will be the perfect place.Just a thought!

I forgot to mention, you may want to check out Mourning Cloak botanical gardens.

You need to be a BVS resident to rent Cub Lake space.

If you need a pass for BVS let me know and I'll be happy to call one in for you. :)  And congrats on the wedding, and best wishes for a happy and fortuitous future together!

A lot of people hold weddings, parties and receptions at Cub Lake in Bear Valley Springs.  I'm not sure if you need to be a resident to reserve an area at the lake (BVS is a gated community) but it's worth asking.  By the way, congratulations!  :-)

The Lodge at Woodward West has a beautiful outdoor patio where you get married in front of a beautiful oak tree and it overlooks stallion. The patio is paved so no worries about dirt. It's really gorgeous. I was supposed to get married on that patio but mother nature decided to send a horrible rain/wind storm the night before & that day...lol...so we had to move it inside.

I'm not sure if Morning Cloak Botanical Gardens on Old Town Road will allow weddings, but it might be a good place to ask. It is really pretty there. The problem with outdoor weddings in Tehachapi is the weather can be very unpredictable. You could start planning now for a nice Spring wedding, only to have it snow! It's snowed here on Easter before!  Even if it's a comfortable day, you'll still have to contend with the wind.

Olivia and I where hitched at City Park not in but next to the gazebo. We rented chairs and tables from BS&E equipment rentals a couple of blocks from the park. My Friend victor who caters weddings catered ours.We had 105 people and it was a great place to get married. Best of all it was an easy set-up and easy clean-up.

I'll have to look at Stallion.  My dress has a long train so I want grass and not dirt to walk through.  A covered bridge sounds pretty!  Thanks!

Have you looked out in Stallion Springs? There's a really pretty little park by a small lake, there's even a wooden covered bridge. There's also a Lodge in Stallion that is pretty nice. Too bad Mourning Cloak was not kept up - it would've been perfect. Now you have to provide your own outhouses!

Mountain park (his choice & yuck), the parks, brite lake, some different friends properties.  Ideally I want water nearby but I doubt that will happen in Tehachapi.  Even an old cabin nearby, but I dont know of anything in town, besides the parks.
