Dear Editor

Why is "Tehachapi" not in spell check?  I think it would be a safe addition.

Yeah, the spell check is nice, but it certainly would be great to be able to have a personal dictionary to enter in all those words that we use all the time but aren't in the regular dictionary.  It's too bad some people don't use it at all!!!  :)

Lori, that's a good question for our "IT" people. Fortunately, I can spell that without electronic assistance!
The mysteries of spell check just happens to be one of my personal pet peeves. In another place and time I've been horrified to have the word "public" changed to a very private word. On one occasion, the printed menu for a baked chicken luncheon was changed to "baked children." I'm sure you can guess what questionable and overly friendly suggestion comes up every time a web address has a ".org" ending.  I'll see what  influence I can sway, but  in the meantime, for those who don't excel at spelling, rest assured you're in good company: "I don't give a damn for a man that can only spell a word one way." -- Mark Twain

I have a spelling checker
It came with my PC
It plainly marks for my revue
Mistakes I cannot sea
I've run this poem threw it
I'm sure your please to no,
It's letter perfect in it's weigh
My checker tolled me sew
