Driving Practices
Admittedly, when I first moved here from Southern California (17 years ago), I may have been a bit aggressive in my driving.  Anyone who drives down south knows that aggressive driving is defensive and makes for an alert/aware driver.  So after a few weeks I realized I was being rude and unnecessary and tampered my habits.  HOWEVER what is with the driving up here?  If you are going to pull out in front of me from a side street or parking lot, fine - I'm watching.  But would you please then hit the gas and get the heck going?  Pulling from a driveway at a dangerous speed DOES NOT mean that you make up for it by then slowing to 5 mph.  If you see a nice bit of Tehachapi's abundant lovely scenery PLEASE do not slow to 10 mph on Hwy 202 causing many near rear-enders in your wake.  And although I realize that Tehachapi used to only have one stop light COULD YOU JUST NOT PULL UP to a green light and stop while you look both ways?  Pretty please?

Yes Monkey, I feel for you, poor driving habits are frustrating.  But I get such a kick out of listening to other folks driving frustration, it's really funny when I'm not the one doing the bitching!  I try not to get wound up when people do that sort of s***, but man, it bugs me too!

BTW, nice Loop picture.  Do you take that?  Are you a train buff?

OMG I understand completely...I am now living in a town that is like Tehachapi was 20yrs ago. The main drag is longer but the pace is slower...sheesh, it's like they think they are the only ones on the road and they are on a Sunday drive. Drives me insane but sometimes ya just have to go with flow, literally, except when you're late for work! LOL...Oh, and whats up with people not using that little thing sticking out of the left side of the steering column? THE BLINKER,  the turn signal! Either use it to warn people your turning or don't even bother to use it at all!!! Drives me insane when someone decides to use it as they are turning, whats the point?! Or your waiting to pull out and waiting for traffic and they don't turn on signal and you could of went because they were turning right, aarrgh!

Ok, I'm glad I finally got that out of my system!

But I guess you need to stop and smell the roses from time to time, just not when you're driving......

Thanks GregL, I did take the pic.  Not a train buff, more of an engineering one.  Plus the day was perfect to take the fam out for some great sightseeing.
