NAMI Tehachapi Support Group Blog Now Open
The Tehachapi NAMI Support Group has been in existence for two years. Now, we are opening this blog to educate, encourage, and support all people who are dealing with mental illness - either as a consumer or a family member. This will be the place to meet between meetings and events. Also, will be a place to keep informed about local services and events. You are invited to join us. Post questions, answers, frustrations (be nice though), and information about what is going on with you and your family. Photos are welcome. Please note: This blog is primarily about NAMI and mental health services in Tehachapi. Other organizations please contact us by e-mail for posting of your announcments. We welcome other organizations that serve those dealing with mental illness, but want to ensure that all who are represented here have the same goals and mission as the Tehachapi NAMI Support Group. 2 comments from 2 users

I am so glad to see this on a Blog. NAMI Tehachapi has truly saved my marriage and more importantly -my son who now is finally a well adjusted and happy young man who suffered with the affects of schizophrenia with no support other then me -his mom, for 4 years. I encourage anyone with a loved one with mental illness to attend a meeting. They are informal, very confidential and a wealth of help and information.

Hooray for this blog!!! Thank you to whoever took the time and energy to get it going. Missed the last few meetings -- dealing with daughter and tests and doctors. Go to another one Monday.... This is the BEST group for those of us who have this aspect in our lives. I've gotten more help from the Tehachapi NAMI support group than from ANYplace else!!!! THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH :-).
