Wow how funny. I was about to blog this same thing.  I was going to vote for Obama in this election, but the fact that he voted yes on this bill has changed my mind like no other action he could have taken.  I think we just got a big peek behind the curtain and you just saw the kind of politician Obama is.  Now I have no idea who to vote for.  No way am I voting for McCain, because had he voted he would have voted Yes on this and he's just more of the same failed modern Republican party, but at least he was politically smart enough not to take a position.  They all suck.  I'm really disappointed and jaded in our government and what is termed leadership in this day and age.

I'm very much afraid history is going to look back and point at this as the beginning of the end of the United States of America.   My kids will never know what this country used to be.  The people in power have started cutting away swaths of the Constitution that up until recently limited their power without even a peep from the common folk.  Benjamin Franklin would be ashamed to call himself an American today.

I heard this had passed.  As a citizen, I am furious that my private information was handed over to government without a warrant.  But, to play devil's advocate, if I was approached by my government and told that it was a time of national crisis and the rules of privacy were suspended and every moment awaiting a warrant gave terrorists a chance to execute another attack, would I have kept my files closed?  I'm not sure.  The nation was reeling.  Both houses of Congress were opening the doors to abridge citizen rights (Patriot Act).  When the street cop is pursuing a felony suspect your car can be "stolen" to aide the cop in the pursuit.  I don't understand why the government didn't get the delayed FISA warrant.  That would have solved the whole thing.

Well, ignorance is bliss, & I've bean happy too long. Forgive my lack of knowledge on this subject, but the time has come to open my eyes & ears. Could someone explain in la men terms what that means? If you could take the time I would really appreciate it.

Thank you PM & Job. Bush sounded like he had marbles in his mouth, maybe the words in his speech were to big for him. This is crazy, I can't even fathom what situations this will invite. OUT of CONTROL! You guys don't agree w/ it, do you? Wow, this is going to be a thirsty road for me to "get w/ it."

True That olivia! I was going to ask , "So what party likes this bill?" Then I thought, slow down Missy, don't let 'em know how little you know! Oh well too late know. I can't very well complain about whats going on w/ our world if I don't have a clue how it's happening. or who did it. Right? Then after I "get it" who knows maybe 1 person can make a difference, well @ least I'll be on the boat. When the conversation goes to politics I "go" anywhere else, I want to start understanding better. How about you?

Yes Lori, I would like to understand that as well.  I guess what is going on is everyone is being eavesdropped on.  Where it is suppose to used for terrorists.  They can evesdrop on every conversation the private citizen has.  I'm wondering....Is George Bush the AntiChrist?

posted by bigdog on Jul 9, 2008 at 11:26 PM

No Olivia Bush is not the antichrist. He is just a dickhead !

posted by storilori on Jul 9, 2008 at 11:26 PM

Yep,thats what I got out of it olivia. Question;   Soo, they can eavesdrop on the USA, but anywhere else in the world too, & are they already listening to us? I mean, legally, ugh I can already tell the more I know, the less I want to.
