Low Income housing

I am tired of the pole for low income housing, and the fact that people vote that there is not enough makes me sick.  If you have to say there is not enough, move to somewhere else.  You do not see towns like Wrightwood or Big Bear worried about low income housing....  if you can not afford it here, where it is actually very cheap to live, then move.  All low income housing does is allow people who can not make it here, live here, and then the crime and school levels turn for the worse.  If you can not tell, I hate public assistance, I work hard to get what I have and I am tired of watching people live of my tax dollars.  IF YOU CAN NOT AFFORD IT HERE......  LEAVE!  Next thing we will be researching is a homeless shelter....  ever here of "if you build it, they will come" ?  The poor and needy is to full of fraud, I work in the field, and if you want Tehachapi to become Lancaster, or the East side of Bakersfield, vote for low income housing....  if not and you know somebody who wants it here, tell them to move to the bottom of the mountains on either side.....  then after they have worked for it, and can afford it, then move back to the top.....  don't expect the tax payers to give you what you have not earned.

I thought some of you might find this interesting... The family from Ohio is also a topic for discussion on the forums at the Pensacola News Journal. Here's the link.

Oh, but don't look around the Pensacola News Journal forums too much... you guys will get jealous of how fancy ours is down here in the swamp. ;)

That was fascinating, riceme.  Always interesting to see what other people are thinking in a whole different region.  Most of what came to mind reading that was- Why don't they move?  Obviously the jobs are leaving.  Why not follow them?  Plenty of places have very low unemployment rates.  And these days, it's not like you're saying goodbye forever when you move somewhere else.

I've known people who have abused & taken our system for granted. It' disgusting. They are capable people, they just know how to work the system. There needs to be some way to sort "them" out, so the others can get that little help up they need. SAD.

Well, I just got back from a trip and read up on this blog, one of my biggest things is, if you can not afford it here, then you should move to an area that you can afford, wether it is housing, fuel costs for gas, or bus transportation fees for the schools...  which are getting up there  :(...  I am not going to move down to Beverly Hills, or Santa Barbara and ask for low income housing....  I move to an area I can afford.  I do not want to pay my hard earned dollars just to live by somebody who gets to live next to me for minimal effort.  Even if it is not a person who is "working" the system, I work and pay a lot to live where and how I do.  If you can not afford it and need low income housing in an area that is already rather cheap to live in by California standards....  then move to a place that already has housing for the low income people....
