There is a min pin stray running loose near Quizno’s and across the busy Tehachapi Blvd.  We are trying to catch him but he is so afraid and won’t let us.  His sibling has been caught and is very friendly.  We think he has been dumped.  If anyone can catch him please let Cathy with Tehachapi Humane Society know or Carissa with Canine Creek dog wash know and we will get him in a foster home.

Cathy  972-8641  or 823-7048.  Cathy will be working at the Library on Thursday.

Today we had a drop off day for items that will be sold at our Rummage Sale on Saturday, May 10th which will be in the parking lot at Alpine Medical of Tehachapi from 8:00 until 2:00 p.m.

I want to thank all of the volunteers who came out to help in this unloading and loading.  Also, the people who donated the truck loads of items.  One couple came with a truck and trailer and then went back for a second load!

The biggest thank you goes out to Tehachapi Mini Storage.  They had let us use one storage unit which was terrific, but they REALLY came through for us today.  The lady noticed all the people and things being dropped off and approached us to ask if we needed another storage unit and gave up another one to us.  Now that's being generous to the max!  Thank you soooo much.

About 30 minutes ago Tehachapi Humane Society received a call from a lady saying she had found a brindle colored, female dog with a purple collar and leash at Hwy. 202 and Banducci.

The report of the missing dog was remembered and the name and phone number of the owner was given to the finder and it was determine to be the missing Hannah.

Hannah should be home safe and sound by now, I did not get the lady's name who found her, but thank you so much for caring and taking the time to try and find her home.

Susie,  I just got word from the person in charge of this fund raiser and her response was...OF COURSE WE'D LOVE HER HELP!

So if your offer is still open, when we come to Canine Creek's Birthday Bash on April 5th we'll bring tickets to leave with you to try to sell for us.

Thanks for the offer and any help you can give us, is sooooo appreciated!

Susie, thanks for the offer to sell tickets for us.  At this time the movie ones are being printed up and we hope to have them ready for your Birthday Bash at Canine Creek to be able to sell them at that time.  We are planning on the locations stated earlier, and I'm not sure how the person in charge wants to handle leaving tickets at locations to sell.  At this time I'll leave it with THS only; but I do appreciate your offer.

As for the location of our office, it is 21600 Golden Star Blvd. (corner of Golden Star and Golden Hills Blvds.)  We are next door to Animal Town  Groomers.

We are starting two Raffles as fundraisers for the Tehachapi Humane Society and both are truly great prizes.

The first one is for two passes to the movies that are good for a year!  That's right.  Hitching Post Theater has again made this most generous offer to us.  They are giving us two passes for movies that can be used any time and as often as you want for a year!  (There might be some "special promotions" that they would not be honored at, but this doesn't happen often.)  Tickets for this opportunity are one ticket for a $1.00 and six tickets for $5.00 and the drawing will be held on June 27th.

The second raffle is for a beautifully framed picture (I've attached a photo of the picture) that has been donated by Nick and JoAnne Cioppi.  They recently retired and donated this picture from their store "A Frame of Mind" which was located in Bakersfield.  The picture had a sell price of $350.00.  We will be displaying this picture in our office and at our Craft and Bake Sale on April 19th and 20th at the Vets' Hall.  Again tickets for this great prize are one for $1.00 and six for $5.00 and the drawing for this will be held at our Craft and Bake Sale that will be held on August 24th.

Both of these raffles are great prizes, so don't miss out on the chance to win one or both!  We will have tickets available at our office on Mondays from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., we will have them available at Canine Creek's Birthday Bash on April 5th and we will make them available at various locations as time and weather permits us to be out and about, in front of Kmart, Albertsons, Savemart, Walgreens, Home Depot etc.  So if you see us out there, stop and buy your tickets for these wonderful prizes!

Tehachapi Humane Society will be having a Craft and Bake Sale in conjunction with the Tehachapi Train Club's showing off their train set ups on April 19th and 20th.  This will be held at the Veteran's Hall on "F" Street from about 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. both days.

This is a two day event and will feature a lot of craft items and home made baked goods.  We hold two of these events each year and it's a great way to spend some time with the family.  So bring the kids, big and little, to see the trains and we'll be on hand to feed you.
