Doctors/Dentist recommendations

I am relatively new to tehachapi and haven't found a doctor or dentist yet for me or my husband.

I remember seeing a blog awhile ago with the same subject but haven't been able to find it again.

If you have a good doctor/dentist or can recommend where to go (or not to go) I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks!

I have to share this one-I go back to a certain  dentist here in town a few days after he changes all my fillings from silver to porcelain. My teeth are killing me and I can't tell him which tooth because it feels like all of my teeth are throbbing.

The assistant-who barely speaks English, puts me in a chair and puts this gadget in my mouth that is making start & stop humming noises. I am thinking to myself that whatever it is it is not working properly. Sure enough another assistant comes in and says........That instrument hasn't been sterilized yet, and why are you using it-it is defective!!!

I never went back. Still waiting to come down with a deadly disease.

I have heard that Dr. Jones is a good D.D.S.

Dr. Michael Jones is a great dentist.  Everyone I've talked with who has gone to him thinks he's great.  We go out of town for our Drs.

We really like Dr. Horowitz at Sierra Family Med.

I haven't been to a dentist here yet, but my neighbor recommended Dr. White down the hill in Mojave. My husband really liked him, and he hates going to the dentist.

We used to go to Valley family dentistries and it was absolutely awful.  The staff is constantly changing, and rude.  I personally will never again see a doctor in this town.  I have been to a few of them and I was greatly disappointed.  The worst was Horowitz (sorry Joty  :/).

Vickinyg, what didn't you like about Dr. Horowitz?

Dr. Jones is very good my whole family liked him.  Dr. Olson was not bad for doctor, and Dr. Courtemarche for chiropractic.  We were transferred to CA and these doctor's all came highly recommended and now we were transferred to NY looking all over again so good luck.

For a dentist, Dr. Wells is probably the best I have been to.

No need to apologize Vicki. Human nature dictates not everyone is going to like the same doctor/dentist, beautician, nail technician - whatever. I have never had anything but positive experiences with Dr. Horowitz and his entire staff. I have neighbors who drive down to Lancaster because they have Kaiser, they never see the same doctor twice in a row. That's not for me.

My son went to Pesche, he agrees with awsmom. My niece tried to see Dr. Warsaw but after waiting an hour and a half, she left without ever seeing him. She now goes to Dr. Horowitz too.

Hope you're happy with whomever you choose Smokey.

Get over yourself, you Kaiser whiners.   I have Kaiser and I have a great doctor who is MY chosen doctor.  She is great and takes very good care of me.  If you are "never seeing the same doctor twice  a row" (per Joty) you need to take control of your care... you need to designate your own physician.   Once you do, you will see that doctor every time.

As for Tehachapi dentists:   Dr. Markiewitz is great!!   You may have to wait to get in as a new patient, but the wait is worth it.

Who is your MD Ragmop?  I have tried a few and have not found the right one yet.  Do you go to Bakersfield or Lancaster?

Lancaster - Dr. Labaro

My only complaints about having Kaiser is the trip to Bakersfield to see my Doctor. I have had Kaiser for ten years and they have always been good to me. I have had two back surgeries, a disk replacement in my neck and all three surgeries where successful. I have had other things done to and I never had a problem getting an approval. The secret to Kaiser is finding the right Doctor.

Did someone pee in your Wheaties Rag? No one bashed your choice of medical care. I simply said it wasn't for me. Just like Vicki said she didn't care for my choice of MD. As far as choosing your own doctor, my neighbor has, but has to wait and wait for an appointment. If it's urgent, she has to see who ever is available.

I really appreciate all the responses to this blog and I'll sit down when I have time this afternoon to go through them and hopefully it will lead me in the right direction. It's never easy finding new dr's in new places but people like you guys really help out alot by sharing your opinions-so thanks again!!
