So....the derby at brite lake was pretty much a bust for everyone, still fun and all, just no catfish biting.

We went out a few times since, and nothing. Yesterday, we decided to try again. We spent 6 hours fishing-looking for a catfish, a bass, a crappie, anything that would bite. We tried most everything, different bait, different top waters, different techniques, nothing worked - not a single bite for either of us all day. We've battled the bugs and also gone in the late evening, still nothing. Most of the anglers we spoke with were also having the same luck.

We did look down once and see a catfish about a foot from the surface, He looked like he was half alive and was covered in some sort of fungus - poor fishy. There were also about 15-25 dead catfish I saw floating and up on the bank and into the weeds. That surely will be smelling nice and ripe soon. Hopefully, they have someone to clean up all the poor dead fish.

What I am wondering is does anyone know why the catfish are dying so quick? I was wondering if maybe it had something to do with the change in elevation or something like that.  I'm hoping it isn't something they have that will pass onto the the other fish in the lake...

Any ideas?

Mmmmmmmm............I love poutine!!

Poutine is the unofficial dish of Canada and, short of stuffing raw lard into your gullet, perhaps the most unhealthy food on planet earth.

It’s “a dish consisting of French fries topped with fresh cheese curds and covered with hot gravy (usually brown gravy) and sometimes other additional ingredients.

Poutine is a fast food staple in Canada; it is sold by many fast food chains (such as New York Fries and Harvey's) in the provinces, in small diners and pubs, as well as by roadside chip trucks.

International chains like McDonald's,A&W,KFC and Burger King also sell mass-produced poutine across Canada.

Now my question is this.....................Does anyone know anywhere in Cali that I can get some good poutine, or maybe even buy some cheese curd and make my own?

Thanks!!

All I know about the Farmers Market is that it runs every Thursday from 4-7pm. I have no idea what to expect there as I have never gone. So, my question to you is, have you been to the Farmers Market? Are there any must stop at places? Any I must buy this suggestions?
