New to the Community
I've enjoyed reading some of the recent blogs posted here. It seems to be a way of looking behind the scenes at what goes on here. I would really appreciate knowing what people of all ages enjoy about living in Tehachapi. I am a lifelong Alaskan. Though I miss my family and friends I left behind, I'm seeing a whole new experience ahead of me here. Where would you recommend a person start when "starting over" here?

I recently moved here from the "Land of the Midnight Sun.'   Everything is different for me from the fact that the sun sets in the Summer to the fact that it rises in the winter.

I have enjoyed reading blogs and learning what some of the insiders of this community write about.

Having lived only in one place my entire life, the whole experience of living in a new state is an adventure of sorts.  I miss my family and friends that I left behind but sense that this is a great place to live also.

Please tell me what parts of living in Tehachapi keep you here.  I'm not young, but definately not "old",  where do I go to "hang out with the crowd"?  If I wanted to help someone, where would I go?  If I wanted to play softball with women who aren't exactly athletic but like to play, does anyone play?

Can you tell me where to start becoming an active member of this community ?  My interests are many and my energy great.   Feel free to offer advice, I just want to know what the insiders do!
