Yasobich - > Fun Stuff and Pickle Soup -> Molesting is BAD, take notes Mr. Mahony
Molesting is BAD, take notes Mr. Mahony
Cardinal Roger M Mahony is under the spot light AGAIN??????? WTF!!!!!!!!!! This man should've never been out of the spotlight, this man has to many secrets stashed away, and to much power for anyone to do anything about it. A new documentary film is about to come out that features a candid interview of a former priest convicted of molesting children, this priest was under direct supervision of Cardinal Mahony in the 80's. And the sick thing about it is that Mahony knew what had happened and moved this vile creature to another parish. From the sounds of all the hoopla Mahony has been doing this for a long time, covering up these spewing filth so others wont know....... and now a days Mahony is the grand PooBah of the Roman Catholics. I don't know about you but i think molesting children is a bad thing and i cant seem to find it in any religious book saying its ok. Sooo how many more is he covering up and isn't the catholic religion worried about this guy? You never hear them, or maybe they are scared to say something. I dunno but it just seems wrong. You know what they do to molesters in prison? well considering half of tehachapi works at the prison i'm sure you can guess. Im not a religious person but as far as i can tell Catholics can bite me. they are only as good as those they hang around with, and they are the one that can bring certain people to justice. If its something hidden it will be released in due time. But till then people need think and react to what is good for everyone. In any religion if something is wrong it needs to be dealt with, (and im not saying if we occupy another country go deal with the president i'm just saying that take care of what is in front of you either it be a holy man molesting or a pew boy peeing in the holy water). ANYWAYS there is to many things to go off on so im just gonna stop and enjoy my bad grammar and give out a hearty SIGHHHHH..............

As a matter of fact, conservative Catholics have been worried about Cardinal Mahoney's politics and actions for years--and they've been speaking up about it.  Just because you don't hear it, doesn't mean it's not being said.

Hmm, you seem to be a liberal democrat, right?, then what is your view on so many democratic congressmen being caught molesting pages in congress and then even one getting re-elected to serve longer after molesting young boys?, ( Gerry Studds) shouldnt we take action against these people too?, or, is it ok since they are democrats?

10. Sen. Daniel Inouye. The 82-year-old Hawaii Democrat was accused in the 1990s by numerous women of sexual harassment. Democrats cast doubt on the allegations and the Senate Ethics Committee dropped its investigation.

9. Former Rep. Gus Savage. The Illinois Democrat was accused of fondling a Peace Corps volunteer in 1989 while on a trip to Africa. The House Ethics Committee decided against disciplinary action in 1990.

8. Rep. Barney Frank. The outspoken Massachusetts Democrat hired a male prostitute who ran a prostitution service from Frank’s residence in the 1980s. Only two Democrats in the House of Representatives voted to censure him in 1990.

7. Former Sen. Brock Adams. The late Washington Democrat was forced to stop campaigning after numerous accusations of drugging, assault and rape, the first surfacing in 1988.

6. Former Rep. Fred Richmond. This New York Democrat was arrested in 1978 for soliciting sex from a 16-year-old. He remained in Congress and won re-election—before eventually resigning in 1982 after pleading guilty to tax evasion and drug possession.

5. Former Rep. John Young. The late Texas Democrat increased the salary of a staffer after she gave in to his sexual advances. The congressman won re-election in 1976 but lost two years later.

4. Former Rep. Wayne Hays. The late Ohio Democrat hired an unqualified secretary reportedly for sexual acts. Although he resigned from Congress, the Democratic House leadership stalled in removing him from the Administration Committee in 1976.

3. Former Rep. Gerry Studds. He was censured for sexual relationship with underage male page in 1983. Massachusetts voters returned him to office for six more terms.

2. Former Rep. Mel Reynolds. The Illinois Democrat was convicted of 12 counts of sexual assault with a 16-year-old. President Bill Clinton pardoned him before leaving office.

1. Sen. Teddy Kennedy. The liberal Massachusetts senator testified in defense of nephew accused of rape, invoking his family history to win over the jury in 1991.

HMmmmmm! You seem to be completly out of touch! The issue is of the sick behavior. Rather than point fingers why not try to speak out against such actions......... Not defend by pointing out that others have done the same or worse. Will the conserative RIGHT ever see they are WRONG.

How old are you? My guess would be in your late teens. You have that "the world sucks, all knowing demeanor" about you.  Really the world isn't an awful place if you take a second to notice the good things in it. Yes, at times they may seem non- existent, but they are always there. Also for someone who believes Catholics are a bit to judgemental, you sure were quick to jump on here and discriminate against them. In the future you may want to judge people as indivduals not by their religious beliefs. FYI -- I am a Catholic. I read Harry Potter, I don't hate homosexuals, I'm not a child molester, nor do I condone those behaviors, and Cardinal Mahony scares the crap out of me.

All good point are made here,,,,my view is the catholic church did not and is still not addressing the priest molestation problem correctly, they should not try to cover up or hide wrongdoing by priests, and they should prosecute those who are caught, they did not do this all the time, a few they did, but not all.  as for the political post, all politicians are crooks, liars, and mostly evil people, even at the local level,,,,,,,,,,,yes, its true,,,,,,,, money is pouring into this town, where is it going? why does it always take 10 times as long for any project to be completed?, but, thats another topic,,,,,,,, back to the political post,,,,,it really makes me mad when democrats point the finger at Republicans for scandals when they themselves are some of the worst offenders. but , good topics and good opinions offered here,,,, keep it up everyone!!!!!!

What I think is sad, is people who blindly follow a political ideology whether it is democrat or Republican,,,,,there are good points and bad points to each party,,, how each party will spin the truth to sound a certain way, or just straight out lie about issues,,,,,,, and the people believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!, think you can trust anything Hillary Clinton says??? I am independent  and also just vote on the issues, not the candidate,,,,,people forget so quickly about why we are in Iraq, what really happened during the Clinton administration,  and when you tell people the facts, they are in denial, or just dont want to hear the truth,,,,,,,,,thats sad,,,,,,,,,,,

HAVE YOU SEEN DELIVER US FROM EVIL....?? It isn't often you get to meet the devil in all his glory, but here he is in ``Deliver Us From Evil," and his name is Father Oliver O'Grady.A California priest who raped dozens of children from the 1970s until his arrest in 1993 -- and who now lives in Ireland, a free man -- ``Father Ollie" was consistently protected by the diocese hierarchy, which moved him from one mid-state parish to another whenever complaints arose. This documentary makes one wonder who's the greater sinner: the deeply sick man who couldn't control his impulses or the churchmen who knowingly allowed his reign of destruction to continue. The deeper rage, of the victims and the film, is reserved for a Catholic hierarchy headed by Cardinal Roger Mahoney, who knew O'Grady and protected him before Mahoney ascended to the position of archbishop of L A. Mahoney isn't interviewed in ``Deliver" -- no one from the diocese would speak to the filmaker -- but his videotaped testimony from recent civil suits offers a damning portrait of an entrenched bureaucracy clinging to power by obfuscation and stonewalling. hmmm makes you think, why do people follow the Catholic church when the people who run it are nothing but curropt politicians..This movie shows how the church is more interested in the $$$ more than being Godly. WEll at least in my opinion, everyone I am sure will have opinions of their own.....

Well if this movie says it's true than it must be.

I didnt say that it is TRUE..this is what I got out of the movie. Have you seen it? If not, then maybe you should keep your opinions to yourself, since in all actuality you dont really have one if you havent even seen the film.

ZU - I never stated my opinion. I simply made a sarcastic comment. I'm sorry it offended you. All I meant by it is that you can not believe everything you see and hear.  As for seeing the movie maybe I will check it out. Will you please tell me the names of the people or organization that filmed it?

I guess I miss took your last sentence in your post above. You seemed to be aware that people would have different opinions. My bad.
