I only had a couple
In the last 5 years have you ever had 3 or 4 beers and then driven a car? 10 comments from 6 users

Nope. I don't even drive after 2 (within a couple hours), which is usually my self-imposed limit. I think all cars should have those breathalyzer locks on them. It would save a LOT of lives.

I would like to say no, but I can't. As a rule, I don't drink hardly at all, but my co-workers had a good-bye bash for me at my favorite Irish pub (I didn't drink there, we used to go for the most awesome Shepard's Pie at lunchtime) in Las Vegas when I left to return to CA four years ago. I was drinking beer, and I would've been ok, but my fine friend Lucy kept buying me Lemon Drops which I kept drinking. They don't mix well. I was drinking lots of water and even made myself puke a couple of times before I left the bar, but I was totally blitzed. My guardian angel was working overtime that night. I should not have been behind the wheel, and where were the LVPD that Friday night? A co-worker was following me, she said I was actually doing all right. How I don't know. I haven't done it again, and never will. As far as the breathalizer in cars, all you need is someone who hasn't been drinking to blow into it. So unless they come up with one that will l ID personal DNA, they aren't the answer either. posted by

Yeah, that's true. Let's get cranking on that DNA thing, then, lol. Or, my dream of having the self-driving cars from "Minority Report" would do just fine. And it would weed out all other causes of accidents. Yeah for napping while commuting, lol!

Yes, and I have! And, unfortunately I eventually got a DUI! But, today I can say that I am grateful that it didn't turn out worse. I know that I can't just have A drink! I am gald that the rest of you know how to drink in moderation, if that is what you would like to call it. But, I will say, that getting away with it, for me, led me to thinking I could do it all the time. It's just not a good idea, just think of how you would feel if you got behind the wheel, after a "couple" of drinks, and killed someone! posted by

I think self-driving cars would be the greatest thing ever! As long as it comes with an alarm before you get to your destination- so you don't arrive at work with those weird indentations you get when you sleep with your forehead against the steering wheel. I had a few reckless nights when I was younger that I am really not proud of (just glad I never hurt anyone or got caught!). This is going to sound terrible, but if you drink at work, it's easy to not know how drunk you really are. Those were crazy times. But at least the day flew by fast and the customers weren't nearly as irritating. Driving home after work though... not so good. posted by

Yes when I used to drink I drove every day with a beer between my legs. I never got a DUI or in an accident. I was lucky! posted by

Once I saw what appeared to be a homeless man asking for money to buy beer, so some people gave him money for his beer, then, the so called homeless man took the money, bought his beer, and drove away in his crappy car drunk,,, did the people who gave him money help him? could this happen?, you bet it could, thats why if I help homeless people , its not with drug money, posted by

WAKE UP GUBE,, its an analogy, give beer money to a homeless person and you are not helping them, if fact you may be putting another drunk driver on the road, is that a good thing ?, no, I dont think so, help the homeless in a positive way, not with drug money posted by
