Any one know about the new restaurant called the Blue Ginger PHO' that is going in between Books and Crannies and Domino's Pizza?  I saw their sign today and wondered about it!  At least I think it's a restaurant!

Here is a quote from the TN article on how much the new hospital is going to cost:

"The Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District envisions a 25-bed hospital, Burgess explained later to the Tehachapi News, and the million and a half to two million dollar figure is a total number that includes design, hard costs of construction and soft costs of access roads, parking, utilities and water."

Are they in dreamland?????? The average cost of a hospital is over 1 million dollars A BED!!!!!  And previous comments about rebuilding the train depot felt that $1 million was not enough money to finish it.  And they feel a 25 bed hospital can be built with 2 million dollars or less?

I think some research needs to be done before the hospital is started. TVHCD needs to view other 25 bed hospitals that have been recently finished to see what the actual building costs were.

I sure don't want another white elephant like the fire station to be started and not finished!

Here is an article from the Bakersfield Californian.  Other counties take action against hoarders but it seems Kern County has thrown out the welcome mat!

http://www.bakersfield.com/...

Here is another link to Kern County Code enforcement http://www.hoardingchihuahu...

Does our Animal Control Division Chief side with hoarders???? Why is it ok to have over 250 dogs in cages that live in a house with no conditional use permit to have a kennel?

And didn't they give this woman in Mojave 10 days notice to clean up before an Animal Control inspection?  Did they give the woman in Cummings Valley 10 days notice to clean up?  Kimi Peck gets 10 days notice before an Animal Control inspection.

According to the link above, San Berninadino "quickly" cited this woman for illegal zoning violation when she moved there. So she moved to LA County where Animal Control seized her dogs. SO SHE MOVED BACK TO KERN COUNTY!

Why hasn't Kern County quickly cited Kimi Peck for zoning violations??? Click on the Kern County Code enforcement and they have no less than 26 entries for Kimi's property.

Well, it has been almost 1 year since the mystery person, Gube, has started to blog.  He has had an astonishing over 23,000 blog views and over 2200 profile looks, all of us trying to figure out who this man is and what makes this man who he is.

Gube has irritated, infuriated, bored us, outraged us, agreed and disagreed with us, crossed over the line, and has been a general pain in the azz. He has no idea what political correctness is. But he is free to be who is he is, without worrying or being concerned as to whose toes he has just stepped on or what other people think.  I feel Gube is the essence of free speech, something this country is based on.

Happy Birthday Gube!

Yes, the Angels sang at my house today.  As much as I love my kids, I enjoyed 8 hours of..........nothing!  My kids both went back to school.  My daughter, who had been homeschooled, had her first day of 7th grade at JMS and my son had his first day of 9th at THS.

Anyone else as happy as I am?

I just read in the Bakersfield Californian that a Bear Valley Springs employee is under investigation due to "hundreds of thousands" of dollars that are missing from the BVS Association.  Apparently this embezzling has been going on for 2 years now.  Why hasn't the Tehachapi News posted anything on their website?  It has been referred to the DA for further action.

Alright, I will admit it.  I am not very "technogical advanced."  And my children call me the Amish mother as I have to ask them for help on computer games and occassionally even my cell phone.  I don't even know how to text, and if someone sends me one it takes me 10 min. to figure out how to get to that feature on my cell phone.

That being said, I need to get my car outfitted to be able to talk on my cell phone.  I don't really want a pink tooth or blue tooth hanging off my ear or a mic bobbing in front of my mouth. I recall that 20 yrs ago the large animal vet I worked for had a mic above his visor and he could talk and hear on his cell phone without holding it up to his ear (cell phones at that time were bigger than home phones).   The only downfall was that everyone in the vehicle could hear his conversation--which I don't care about.  Any idea where I should go or what I should buy to get updated to the 20th century?

The Kern County District Attorney’s Office has arraigned two Tehachapi men on felony and misdemeanor charges arising from the June 13 fire that left the historic Tehachapi railroad depot a smoking ruin.
Co-defendants Jason Watson, 31, and Brian O’Donnell, 36, appeared before
Judge John Oglesby at East Kern Superior Court in Mojave and both pleaded not guilty to one felony count of causing a structure fire and one misdemeanor count of using illegal fireworks.
They were taken in custody temporarily until they posted bail. O’Donnell’s
bail was set at $10,000. Watson’s bail was $20,500 for the fire-related
counts and $5,000 each for two unrelated probation matters, for a total of
$30,500.
They had not been in custody prior to the hearing.
“They surrendered to the court for arraignment,” said Deputy District
Attorney Ronald Taylor.
The maximum penalty for the felony count is three years in prison and six
months for the misdemeanor.
Watson and O’Donnell are represented by their own private attorneys, one
from Lancaster and the other from Los Angeles.
Taylor said the next court appearance for Watson and O’Donnell will be Aug.
20 for a pre- preliminary hearing, and two days later on Aug. 22 for the
preliminary hearing. At that time the judge will decide if the DA’s office
has enough evidence to hold the defendants for trial. A trial would proceed
within two months.

In a previous blog Bear Valley Springs ECC and the restrictions that are imposed there were discussed.  I admitted I was a 2 times violater and had 2 Nastygrams sent by the ECC (Envoirnmental Control Committe).  One was for "riding a quad"--I was actually pulling a riding lawn mower out with the quad that stuck in a sandy bog.  The other violation was because my propane tank was not shielded or fenced--dispite the fact that Benz was parked in the driveway and was moving the propane tank and the fence was already built and leaning against the fence, just waiting to be installed.  Well, I just opened my mail and now

Gasp!  I am a 3rd strike felon!  I got another Nastygram!!!

My offense this time....it was serious.  I'm surprised that the police were not notified...none of the neighbors complained.... but the light police were about in force that night.  I am waiting for a knock on the door and the Swat Team to be ready for me to come out.  Please don't put the cuffs on too tight and I'll cooperate.  The offense:

I left my porch light on after 10:30 pm, which is a violation of the ECC Rule, Section 113 and C&Rs Para. 7.d(9).

My neighbor, who I  was gallavanting with until 11:00pm, recieved a Nastygram also becuase she left her porch light on also!

I don't know whether to laugh or get mad!

http://www.tehachapinews.co... 700, 620 )">

Here is an article that is on the Tehachapi News Website:

Mojave and Tehachapi were created in 1876 when the Southern Pacific arrived. Recently the historic Tehachapi railroad depot was destroyed by a fire caused by two people playing with illegal fireworks on June 13th.
On Sunday, June 29, Mike Massee, president of the Mojave Transportation Museum, presented a $500 check to Friends of the Depot president Doug Pickard, and board member Carol Westover.
In  return, Pickard handed Massee a telephone from the old Mojave railroad depot. The phone will be displayed in the Mojave Transportation Museum when it is built.
To help the Friends of the Tehachapi Depot rebuild the depot, send donations to them at P.O. Box 2044, Tehachapi CA 93581-2044.

Ok folks, its been ONE MONTH and no one has been jailed for burning down the Train Depot.  You and I would be in Kern County Jail for arson right now for doing this--yet not these"two people playing with illegal fireworks" (aka grown men in their 30's).  Now, they are asking for donations to rebuild the Depot.  And how much are the 2 men that were "playing" with fireworks going to have to pay?  How about $500-$1000 a month for the rest of their life!  They can get a 2nd job to pay off what they are responsible for doing.

Other people were arrested for fireworks--read the Tehachapi News. But not these men.  What gives?
