health care crises.....really!

Some insurance companies are now sending you out of this country for surgeries.  Some procedures that cost 80,000 in the US only costs14,000 in India. Its cheaper for them to send you there then to do it here......Health care crises....yes.

My husband and I are included in that 47 million uninsured...$1500 a month (Blue Cross of CA) we just could not afford, that was thru HIPPA...we are being punished because we both have existing conditions.

How have costs been allowed to get so out of control? My doctor here in town charges $2.00 every time I have to get a refill on medication - and don't get me started on the cost of those meds!!!

I am one of the "lucky ones" and have health insurance thru a family's business (can't dicriminate for pre existing conditions) but I pay almost $800 a mth for the kids and I. Every mth it's a struggle to pay it--I am a year behind in property taxes--it's getting down to a place to live or health insurance.  So I have really been watching the budget to try to catch up the taxes. About the time I do another installment will be due!

And I am one of the fortunate ones that doesn't have a house payment.  I would have lost the house if I did.

It's a never ending cycle isn't it? Robbing Peter to pay Paul seems to have become a way of life for so many of us. We are lucky too in that we don't have a house payment. Property taxes are still relatively low for us because we haven't completed construction - I shudder to think what they will be! I'm thankful we don't have kids at home to have to worry about. Our middle daughter had to take our oldest granddaughter to the ER for severe stomach pains. They couldn't find anything wrong - but the bill was $15,000.00 - she doesn't have health insurance either. She talked with the hospital and they lowered it to $10k, still way too high!
