Our country is one of the richest in the world....yet 47 million people do not have health insurance in our country.  Now other countries are offering aid to US citizens.

I have read some of Gube Nation's and others rant and rave about legal and illegal aliens but have not really joined in the discussions.  Most people who come  across the border from Mexico are here  for one reason...A Better Life.   There is no middle class in Mexico and they come here seeking employment and the American Dream:  Work Hard and You will be Rewarded, something not available down south. Even my 8th grade son has not figured this out yet.  I admire their courage--coming into a country( some legally, most not) where they don't know the language and customs, and try to set up roots.  They do contribute to society--unclaimed withholding taxes, culture and of course, the Food!  But I am starting to shift my opinions and view because of a descion by TUSD.

Busing has been available to summer school students in the past.   Yes, I do realize there has been massive budget cuts from the state to education and the price of gas has risen dramatically.  I don't mind paying for the bus for summer school as I have shelled out several hundred already for my kids to ride the bus to school during the school year.  But this summer busing is going to be different.

TUSD has chosen to not offer buses to summer school students except Migrant Workers Children.  They will ride to summer school on TUSD Buses, while the rest of the students are not being offered transportation.

This leaves a bad taste in my mouth.....
