Luthiers???
Are there any luthiers in the area?? I'm having trouble finding one and I need some work done ASAP on my violins.  I'd rather not have to drive to Bakersfield.

Humm, I'm assuming you've called all the music stores up here?

Give Mountain Music a call at 823-9994.  There are several people in town who can help and the folks there (Molly Carlson, Marie Wier, Bill Lorenz, or Debbie Hand) can help you find them.

Yes, I've called mtn. music and they referred me to someone in Bakersfield.  So I guess that's the closest luthier.

Steve Hepner is a local Luthier.  I'm not sure how to get a hold of him though.  He plays and sings with "Geezers on the Loose" on a regular basis at The Apple Shed and at Guido's restaurants.  He does excellent work from repairs to making beautiful guitars, mandolins, violins and the likes.

Thanks peacetoyou!  I see he is listed in the phonebook, but I don't want to just call him at home out of the blue, maybe he has an ad somewhere...

Your welcome.  I think that phone number may be his Father's, who recently passed away, but go ahead and give it a try.  Steve is a very simple guy, so I doubt he has an ad anywhere.  If you know Jon or George Hammond, you may be able to reach him through them.  I know he has rented a small house on Linda Vista ranch for years and had his workshop set up there.  Good Luck!

In Peace,

Annette

Yah, I don't think I should try that number.  I don't know either of those people.  I haven't lived here long.  I pretty much don't know anyone.

Lol Sparks!  Okay ,well there are two Stephen Hepners in the phone book, one on Cherry lane and one on Country Club Drive.  Any ideas which one I should call?  I would hate to dial his late father's number by accident.

Just call both numbers, if you accidently call his father's number at least the people who answer the phone will know how to get in touch with Stephen Hepners JR..   Dang it babydoll, I'm this - close to calling him myself.

Cowgirl up there girlfriend!!!!  This is Tehachapi-not LA and most everyone is friendly!!!  What are they going to do if its the wrong number-- call SWAT, the Secret Service or notify the FBI?  Maybe issue a warrant for your arrest?  Trust me--a wrong number won't appear on your permanent record!  Just kidding! They probably get these types of calls for one and other all the time.  Good luck!!!

Call the one on Cherry Lane.... His parents lived on Country Club before they passed. I'm surprised Steve actually had a phone put in!  Call him up, he is a very nice guy,  tell him Annette Kirby referred you.
