Del Taco

Has anyone been to del taco yet? we just got back and i am here to give you my report. I'll give it a C  for effort. It was crowded but overall they did an ok job getting our food out to us. I would have given them a B but they got my order wrong and i had to wait longer for them to get it right. I give the food B- as far as fast food goes. It was tasty and hot although my wife and sons meals were not hot, they where luke warm at best. For cleanliness I give then a C- Trash cans were over flowing and tables were dirty.  Overall grade is a C-.

:linedance:

On a side note...I am a sheet metal worker and i can't help but notice exposed duct . The Duct work in the restaurant was clean looking and a good job unlike the eye sore on Green and  F street.

If I was to grade them I would give them a D.. The cashier messed up the order ( completly forgot one of the combo meals after I asked for it twice, even with the help of her manager), my breakfast quesidilla was dripping with grease, and for cleaniness they get a C, it was not too bad but it was still early in the day. I know I will not return anytime soon if I do at all. They need alot of work before I step in there again...

I thought the food was fairly good and they didn't mess up our order at all, but the girl at the drive-thru did seem a little unfamiliar with her job.  I didn't really expect any different though, since they just opened.  The line was a little slow, but a lot of people in front of us were ordering special orders and were very frustrated when the cashier would get confused.  Not bad overall.

Finally! We have "true, authentic" Mexican food! I wouldn't eat there if you paid me. Well maybe, depends on how much. I am not a big fast food person but, why couldn't it have been a KFC or some other type of food that isn't a block away. Tommy's or In-N-out would have been fine with me. Tehachapi has some of the worst food of any small town that I have ever been in (and I have been in a lot). I am so glad that I come from a cooking family. I bet we eat out maybe once every other month.

I had to pick up someone in Bakersfield on Friday night. We left about 5pm and the line-up of cars for Del Taco was out to the road. It looked packed. After we did some grocery shopping and errands on our way home we passed by Del taco around 9pm. The line-up of cars was still out to the road. I'm not sure if they stayed busy the entire night or we just happened to pass by when they were crazy busy both times.

I've never eaten at a del taco before. Alot of people have alot of differing opinions on the quality/taste of the food but no-one has mentioned thier pricing. How is that comparable to the other fast food places?

Smokey I paid 22 dollars for me my wife and my 13 year old boy. My wife did mention that it was a little expensive for 3 people.

You have to give this establishment a break. You guys know that Grand Openings are hectic and this is sometimes the first actual customers these workers have helped and I am sure they were nervous and a bit overwhelmed. Wait a while and then go back. Then judge.

Gillfish the C- grade i gave Del taco will improve over time as business slows to normal and the employees learn there jobs. I like to hear what other peoples experiences are. I think that we are all in agreement that Del Taco is doing the best they can and that there is room for improvement. As a paying customer i feel i have a right to comment on there service. In fact all this talking about Del taco is making me hungry.Ill have my second report out soon

I have to agree with gillfish here. I have gone and No I didn't get excellent service....they gave me the wrong kind of drink and my food was luke warm, BUT this is their grand opening and they were packed so I was willing to give them a break. I think I'll wait until things die down to go back. I have to admit that it will make things a bit easier for me in the future. I have a son that isn't a huge Mexican food buff. To be able to go some where and get myself and my daughter some Mexican food and him a burger and fries will be a nice change.

In all honesty though I paid 1.89 each for their carne asada tacos.(They are tiny, but I knew this.) I also paid 3.99 for a Macho Burrito( I think that's what they called it for my hubby.) Now they do have burritos for like 1.99 or something I think.  My opinion.......Save your money and eat at Taco Samitch!

Countygirl yes i like taco samitch too. As i was eating my second Mocho Burrito i told Olivia that we should have gone to Taco Samitch. The two Macho's where about the same size as a burrito from Taco samitch and at near 4 bucks apiece twice as much.

Pathetic!!!!!   It's just a Del Taco, people!  Every time I pass by, there's a huge line, as if Julia Child herself came back from the grave and was serving up Macho Grande Burritos with a side of  french fries for crying out loud!!!  The lack of descent restaurants around here has sadly numbed the taste buds of Tehachapians.  So Sad...

We're not saying it's the greatest food on earth- but it's always fun to go try out the new place :)  Plus I remember going out at three in the morning for a run to Del Taco.  It was fun!  When it's practically the only thing open, your taste buds adjust.  And pretty soon, you get cravings for it.  Funny how bad food can become so addictive.

I went to Del Taco at 10:30 the other night and didn't get out of the drive thru untill 10:55...the wait was LONG but...we have to remember this is a new restaurant, these employees are all unfamiliar and need to get used to the job and they'll learn short cuts, give it a few weeks and they'll be just as fast as any other Del Taco...the food by-the-way was just as good as any, worth the wait for those chicken soft tacos and fries! :)

Gotta agree with skippypbj Del Taco does nothing for me even if it's the new place in town I don't plan to sit in line for that. If for some reason I am passing by and get a craving for fast food mexican I would probably still go to Taco Bell. I agree that Taco Samich is the best and if I had the time I would go there.
