I am a Union sheet metal worker. I am proud to be a member for over 10 yr. now.  How do you like unions ?. are you for them or against them. I like more then I dislike about them. I belong to sheet metal workers Local105.What I don't like about unions is the left wing propaganda that they mail out around election time. Even though I am a registered Democrat  I don't like being told who to vote for. I watch the news and read the paper and I vote for the one that I feel will best represent me. And I don't enjoy paying dues,but that is a necessary evil.............What I do like about my union is that I know what is what. For example I know that no matter what job I'm dispatched to my pay will be the same. I don't have to negotiate  how much i get paid or if i well receive any benefits. All that falls under the contract that the Employers and the union members have agreed upon. I also believe that if it was not for unions  people working non union jobs would not be earning a decent wage, and would not be provided the benefits that they have . Unions keep non-Union companies honest Non-union companies don't provide good pay and benefits out of the goodness of there heart. They do it to keep the unions at bay. They don't wont the Unions to try and organize their shops I believe and support my  union and all unions.I  also will  not cross a picket line.Tell me are you a union member,If so what local. How do you feel about your local ?

 Has the news finally did away with the choice to post anonymous. I hope that they did. I just noticed that the post anonymous section was gone.    Next I hope they take away the ability to delete a comment.

Not till hell freezes over, That is what a good friend and long time Tehachapi resident has told me many times on him ever going to our local hospital. His words were "" I do not care if I am having a major heart attack I'll never go to tehachapi hospital I will go to Bakersfield first'''''. Well my friend had chest pains the other day and well, It must of got a little cold under his feet because he made the wise decision and went to tehachapi hospital.  You can bet when I went to see him in the hospital up here I could not help but give him a hard time. Luckily for my friend it was not too serious and he was released the next day. My friend had good things to say and did not regret his decision to be seen at our hospital.

What I would like to know has anyone else had any experiences like my buddy did if so I would like to read about it.
