I know that there are a few medical courses such as medical terminology and a certified nurses assistant class offered in Tehachapi and Mojave. I'm currently on the "waiting list" for one of them. I wasn't planning on building a career as a nurses assistant, and would like to go onto an LVN program. To get straight to my point, I'm looking at one to two years full time school and training for a nursing license. It's approximately $20,000 to attend vocational nursing school) No time for a day job.I will be commuting to Lancaster or Bakersfield....more gas money.$ So, I'm wondering....hoping that Tehachapi can offer a nursing program right here in our town. Then, when the City decides to stop dragging their feet on the development of our new hospital, we'll have local residents who will be trained to work there. It seems somewhat 'backward" that Wal Mart gets the "OKAY."to move in, but a new Hospital for our community gets shot down. I'm guessing that whoever makes the most "Revenue" gets pushed to the top of the list, huh?
I guess that subject is for another time.
