Domingo's Poor Customer Service
My first and final trip to Domingo's. I was treated with a rude and poor attitude by the owner, who told me that I was wrong.

Domigo's Poor Customer Service

Where has customer service gone in restuarants?  As a first time vistor to Domingo's I was appalled at the customer service during their happy hour.  My husband and I and our 4 month old, decided to go to Domingos to try out their happy hour. This was my first time becuase I just moved up to Tehachapi temporaly one month ago. It was packed, and we sat down.  We ordered a beer, and a virgin margarita, then our waiter served us our drinks and proceeded to ask us what we wanted.  I told him "We would like to share the Shredded Beef Tosada (with the sour cream and guac on the side)." He then hovered over my husband and waited for my husband to order.  Feeling imtimidated my husband ordered the cheapest item on the menu.  Then another employee served us our food.  I then found after taking a few bites that the guacamole, and sour cream were in the salad when I asked to have them on the side.  No big deal, but I informed the waiter of this and also asked how their 'Happy Hour' worked.  He answered with '"Margaitas 1/2 off the second one." I asked "What about beers? So the second one is half of or free?" He replied with "Yes"  So then my husband after hearing this proceeded to order a second beer.  The bill came and I saw that he charged us for the second beer. So we attempted to get his attention and the owner noticed and said in a rude tone "Do you need something?!"  My husband explained the situation and the owner said "No, doesnt apply to beer, pay for it!"  I was appalled. I began to explain the situation and what I understood, and the manager kept arguing with me.  I told him "This was my first time here and I dont think I will come back again because of the poor customer service." He then questioned me with "Are you sure this is your first time?" Next, I began to discuss the poor display of advertising the Happy Hour. He said there was a sign in front of the door. (As I walked out I noticed it; one piece of computer paper. Also keep in mind, it was pouring rain and windy.) Finally, the waiter came over and apoligized and said he would take 1/2 of the second beer.  My husband and I agreed, and proceeded to pay our bill.  I understand that their was communcation issues, but I was just extremely shocked on how the owner treated my family.  What happened to the customer is always right? After this experience I will NEVER go back to Domingo's.

I'm with you on this one because I had a similar experience about a year ago. That was my first and LAST time there. I don't know why anyone goes there.

Try Don Perico's next time. At Valley Bl. amd Tucker in the new shopping center. Food, prices, and service all good.

I've never been there but if that is the kind of service the owner upholds than I am sure the staff are just as respectful. It's appauling how some businesses treat thier customers, afterall, without customers they don;t have much of a business do they?? Thanks for the heads up about this place.

It's been years since my family has had that terrible so called mexican food.    I can still see my sons dried up hamburger that looked like it was reheated days ago............   we paid the bill and ate somewhere else.

We went to Del Taco on new years day.....son of a #$@*%.    It took 45 min for them to get our order done.   The counter staff was turning people away because of the long wait.     I thought they were doing good business because of the long car lines.

Nope, they are just slow and the cars were backed up.

Don  Perico's  is very good and great service.

I just recently went there for the first time on New Year's Eve.  The customer service was really slow, though it WAS New Year's Eve.  It took us forever to have our order taken and then again to get our food.

However, the chip guy was like a ninja, lol.  He'd switch our chips out and we wouldn't even know it.  The food was awesome (I had the sea bass a la plancha).  I probably would go there again, if I didn't have anywhere to be afterward.

It sounds like a breakdown in communication, definitely.  The waiters don't seem to be native speakers (which is pretty typical in most good Mexican food restaurants).  I'm not sure if the owner is a native speaker or not, as I didn't meet him.
