THE TN POLL IS SKEWED!

The posted TN poll re: Capital Hills vs Curry St. is not a reliable indicator. Apparently they have no way of rejecting people who have already voted once. It's like the old Mayor Daly of Chicago who said, "vote early....and often"!

Of the hundreds of people who have been counted here it could well be ONE PERSON voting hundreds of times!

You have to get with today's technology TN so this can be prevented in the future. As it is, these "results" are completely unreliable and not to be believed.

Even if the poll was hijacked by someone, where is the crime?  This is not an official registered voter poll, it's not determining anything, it's just for entertainment value and while hijacking it is wrong, I don't believe any crime was committed.

Countygirl, thank you.  I will try to restrain myself and be more circumspect in my posts.  I have learned a lot from you and count you as a friend.

I sure hope that it doesn't come down to subpoena's, injunctions, Grand Jury investigations, et al.  But I have been a campaign worker on the national, state and local level and have seen much ugliness over the years.  Politics is a dirty business because it is a very emotional business.

When feelings get involved passions are aroused and the blood fight is on.  I have yet to see anyone run a civil campaign even when it starts out that way.  And this is unfortunate.

On a brighter note it's a beautiful day today and I have to go to the dentist.  OUCH!  My detractors can take pleasure in this.  LOL!

I see that Hedda's profile is gone too.  I guess the séance is over

You are right Teresr I was assuming you were saying something you didn't. I guess I just assumed this becuase most of your posts have been full of accusations lately. I aplogize.  I didn't have a problem with your post at all actually, and I'm sure the people(s) who did this aren't really scared about being identified. A subpeona will never happen over this IMO.

FOR THE RECORD: Jimr brought up this poll topic last month, in conjunction with his suggestion that city hall meetings should be moved to Saturdays. It was explained at that time that the Tehacha-pol is not and has never been presented as an exact or scientific measure of any hard data, but is merely an entertainment feature. I personally explained to him that this feature provides no mechanism to determine where "voters" reside, let alone how many times they vote. Shane Reed also participated in this casual conversation at a city council meeting.
In that regard,  I apologize Jim, for not making this crystal clear during that conversation.

Countygirl, excuse me, but I didn't point out any group or person.  I simply stated that whoever hijacked the poll was self-serving and by doing this certainly doesn't honor the will of the people or believe in the democratic process.  I don't have any idea who would do such a thing.  I can draw my conclusions from what has been posted here about voting.

As for evidence...it is laid out above.  Courts have honored dated and time stamped files for over 25 years now.

I don't understand what your concern is about my post.  This is just an observation on my part.  The only time the person(s) who did this could be identified would be under subpeona from a legal body.

And, personally, I do take the polls seriously when they appear to be consistant.  These are people voting their choices.  When the polls are tampered with the peoples' choices are taken away from them and this is not what our founding fathers had in mind.

what post are you guys talking about being deleted by TN?  Was it the one where Hedda sent questions to different members and only one responded?  Why would TN delete that post if that is the one?  IF my memory serves me correct, they were questions and not accusations.

No I was talking about her other blog. The one that was about last Mon. meeting. Did you read her blog that TN deleted Jim? They did the right thing. It went to far and had things in there that could destroy people's personal life. Do you want to ruin someones life? I sure don't.

Like I said it went to far. Many people felt like we got "dirty" during our fire dept. debate. Yes, some people called other people names, but the reality was we had plenty of "dirt" that we could have thrown all around but we refrained from doing so.  You can take the high road and still get results. The facts sell themselves and you can still walk away with some class.

Whether those 700 overnight polls were posted by either the PRO or CON Capital Hills advocates, it was wrong to do. We don't even have 700 bloggers or Commenter's here so some person or persons, who doesn't have a life took the time to log on and off 700 times to try to fool us into believing the results. Well, whoever you are, it DIDN'T WORK. So, I suggest you chill out and get a life. I hope the webmaster has captured your IP address so your identity can be revealed.

P.S. Hedda did not delete her post. It was done by TN within MINUTES of her posting. Whether or not I agree with someone's point of view is irrelevant. I believe in FREE SPEECH!

It was on Hedda's blog....that has been completely deleted.  Why did you delete it Hedda?

You have no evidence whatsoever!  This could have just as easily been someone FOR the Capital Hills site trying to make a certain "group" look bad. The way things have been going lately it wouldn't surprise me in the least!!  I personally never depend on the results of polls when they get over 300 votes. That is about the high norm. the only other time we have seen these kind of numbers for a poll was during the one for Wal-mart. Interesting.........

Countygirl - You had a posting on one of the blogs and now I can't find it.  I wanted to reply but I'm getting old and can't quite remember what you said.  Can you repost?  From what I do remember you were pretty right on with most of what you said.

Yes isn't it strange?  I thought there might be some hanky-panky going on with the polls so I started printing the poll results to Acrobat and I have the PDF files with the time stamps.

10/06/07 10:27:12 pm  481 for Capital Hills (63%)   194 for Downtown (25%)

10/07/06 12:22:26 pm  534 for Capital Hills (65%)  198 for Downtown (24%)

10/07/07 06:52:46 pm  546 for Capital Hills (65%)  201 for Downtown (24%)

10/07/07 09:56:08 pm  554 for Capital Hills (40%)  727 for Downtown (53%) (526 Votes)

10/07/07 10:37:58 pm  555 for Capitol Hills (33%)  1012 for Downtown (61%)  (285 Votes)

10/07/07 11:05:35 pm  556 for Capital Hills (33%)  1013 for Downtown (61%)

No doubt the poll was hijacked and the self-serving person(s) who did this doesn't believe in the democratic process and they don't have the best interest of the people of Tehachapi at heart.

There is enough evidence here to at least get an injunction and start an Grand Jury investigation.  Perhaps under subpoena PollDaddy.com can produce records showing the hijacking and more.

I have to agree with Calvin here. The TN webmaster should take down this poll because it borders on the fraudulent! I checked it last night and the stats were running close to 3 to 1 in favor of the Capital Hills site. Suddenly, and overnight, a thousand people logged in and voted for the Shopping Center site! C'mon now, did you think we wouldn't catch that?

There are programs on the market for such polls that log people in according to their IP address and if they have already voted once and try again they get a polite message telling them just that and reject any attempt to vote again.

This so-called poll should be taken down immediately and an apology posted. No additional polls should be placed until it can comport to today's verifiable technology.

Jim Richards
