RE: ILLEGAL INVASION!
ILLEGAL ALIENS-TOO MUCH TO EXPECT To teresar and other thoughtful bloggers here (except xcite-why dignify him with your comments? His mind is closed and always will be. Period. He may have more monetary wealth than all of us put together, but he has less gray matter between his ears than my dog has.) I agree with all that has otherwise been said here, but unfortunately, you’re preaching to the choir. Until, and unless, we can take our country back from the demagogues in I am on both Barbara Boxer’s and Dianne Feinstein’s e-mail lists and regularly receive entries from them. Boxer consistently sends me messages about legislation she has either sponsored or introduced regarding the terrible situations existing in Darfur, Bangladesh, Gaza, Our so-called “representatives” in Somehow, some way, we must rise up as a united force and remind them that WE are the People that they have been sent there to serve. The alternative is anarchy and revolution in the streets. I have long been a proponent of turning our illegals back to march in the streets of Mexico City to turn around their corrupt government(s), but hell, we can’t even do it ourselves…in our own country. Our so-called Border Fence and our brave Border Agents can do nothing to stop these illegals and terrorists from coming across the border(s). Even the well intentioned Minutemen can’t do it. Their own statistics show that they spot illegals and report them to Border Agents who apprehend them and send them back across the border. The numbers they report are 10%! That means 90% are getting across. And those 10% get back in line and try it again until they become part of the 90%. At this rate, it will never end. To your enumerated statistics add this one: According to FBI reports, over 50% of all homicides committed in the Her home city of San Francisco is now issuing official ID cards to everyone who wants one, whether they are legal...or not! We don't have to concern ourselves with what the Mexican government is not doing to stem the invasion of their citizens from coming here. We are handing our country to them on a Silver Platter! There is one, and in my opinion, only ONE way to stem the flow of illegal “immigration”. We don’t need to spend the billions of dollars on border fencing or more border guards. That won’t do any good, anyhow. The ONE way is to punish and levy sanctions against any and all 10 comments from 8 users

I agree that illegal immigration is a terrible problem destroying America. You can almost see the progression happening on a daily basis. "The ONE way is to punish and levy sanctions against any and all I think one area that is often overlooked in this issue is the amount of people that come to the USA on a valid. legal visa and overstay that visa and never leave. Since Sept. 11, the INS has increased scrutiny of people applying for visas, particularly among Middle Eastern men. But overall, the system remains substantially unchanged. Over the past 30 years, the practice of visa overstaying has grown into the method of choice for millions of migrants from all over the world. And the US Congress and Immigration and Naturalization Service have actually made it fairly easy to do so: Once a foreigner is in this country, the INS has no effective way to track where they are or whether they leave when they are supposed to. There is no 'exit control' by the USCIS when you leave the US. Usually you turn in your I94 to the airline (which gets scanned or filed away), and that's it. If you have 'lost' your I94, the airline won't care. It is a well known fact, that the I94 system has gigantic holes with about 1/3 of I94s never beeing scanned in. This is the reason they want to start the US-VISIT system, to actually keep track of who leaves the country and who doesn't. There is no real punishment for visa overstayers. If you exit the USA and they USCIS is aware you overstayed your previous visa then you will be banned from the USA for 3-10 years, That isn't much concern for someone that doesn't intend on leaving. Perhaps if they made the punishment for overstaying a visa more serious less people would do it. Austin Fragoman, one of the nation's leading immigration lawyers. "From a public-policy standpoint, we have to regulate this. Otherwise, we might as well take the walls down and let the world redistribute itself."posted by

Unfortunately Madkow, if we do it for one person we need to do it for everyone. These rules need to apply to ALL illegals. We can't play favoritism. Besides once it gets out that were letting certain people stay here they will all try to come. That may seem heartless of me but at the same time we can't house everyone in the world here in the United States. The ONE way is to punish and levy sanctions against any and all I agree with this 100%. I have to admit thought that there is one thing that really bothers me. I remember reading an article about an illegal that come to this country and enrolled in our military. She was in listed for 4 years and even served time in Iraq. When she was done they deported her. This made me so mad. I honestly feel that if illegals are willing to in list in our military and learn English they should be able to become citizens. I think it is so wrong that they are considered good enough to fight for this country, but not good enough to live here. Also, Xcite....what they are doing is illegal. Plain and simple. If I was to not pay my taxes I would get in a lot of trouble and possibly even go to jail. If I was to steal ANYTHING that did not rightfully belong to me I would be punished accordingly. Why is it that I a legal resident will get thrown in jail for things illegal aliens are doing everyday?? Any assistance illegals are getting from our government does not rightfully belong to them and we the American people are paying for it. They are STEALING from us everyday and you don't have a problem with that?? posted by

The ONE way is to punish and levy sanctions against any and all Countygirl you are correct. Large fines followed by prison sentences for employers that employ illegal immigrants. legal immigrants should be required to give a thumb print to the immigration Dept. When the immigrant applies for a job he/she must have their thumb print crossed matched with the immigration Dept. Eduardo Quezada We should also punish all those drug addicts that spend thousands of dollars to buy cocaine, hashish, marihuana, etc.... it is my belief that when drug smuglers see all that money being spent in drugs, they all dream that someday they can also make that kind of money. I believe that is also a magnet for illegals and criminals. They are saying: how can people spend so much money for drugs? maybe if I move there I can be rich too! Just a thought. www.quezada.net Eduardo Quezada posted by

Iol...I have several friends who ran to Canada rather than go to Vietnam. They are still in Canada. I don't think we have a lot of illegal Canadians, I think a lot of illegals from other countries come through Canada. My brother in law from Germany was pulled out of line and taken to a room to be questioned about why he made so many trips to the US, why was he here again when he'd just been here six weeks ago, etc. He does everything the correct and legal way, and he gets singled out. What's wrong with that picture? Gube, you made some valid points. Quezada is right about drugs being a big part of the problem, but it is the smugglers who need to be brought to justice. If there is no supply, the demand can't be met.
