A Dog Rescue Success Story - Gentle Ben
Hi there. My name is Ben and this is the story of how I went from being a vagabond wandering the streets of Tehachapi to having a new home with a loving couple. What a difference two weeks makes! This big furry old dog has been rescued from the streets of Tehachapi and has a new owner ready to love him. But, before he is officially adopted out, Gentle Ben needs medical care. Contributions would be greatly appreciated to help pay for his surgery with Dr. Billingsley on January 7th. If you would like to contribute, checks payable to "Dr. Billingsley", with Gentle Ben in the subject line, can be dropped off at Canine Creek. Thank you for any assistance you can offer! 2 comments from 2 users

Hi Susie: This is Leslie posting, Gentle Ben's foster Mom. Ben spent his first night with his new owners last night. they had a leak in their trailer but he had the dry bed! Apparently he has a gentle snore too. He still smells great from the bath you gave him. I think we've raised almost $400 so far-the people of Tehachapi are so generous! If I can raise another $200 I will have his teeth cleaned and get him a microchip too. that way he'll never have to go under the gas mask again the rest of his life!! What a sweet dog he is, thank Mike for saving him. You can see in his photo with Louise how happy they are. Thanks for everything Susie-anyone who ants to donate to his cause can drop a check off at Canine Creek Dog Wash, made directly to Dr. Billingsley. I will be paying his bill when I pick him up Tuesday morning, so anything collected before you close on Monday night will help. Thanks so much wonderful people in Tehachapi. Leslie, Please call Shellie from Microchips & More (661-319-8069) and arrange for Ben's microchip implant -- I'll pick up the tab for it. That will only leave about $150 to raise for the rest of his medical needs. I'm sure we can find 10 more nice folks to pitch in $15 each. Susie
