Congratulations, New Pet Parents!
Thank you to all the generous volunteers and pet-loving visitors who came to the STOP (Save Tehachapi's Orphaned Pets) pet adoption event at the Tehachapi Pet Lodge on Saturday afternoon. We're pleased to announce that five large dogs found forever homes! If you're searching for a new fur friend, please come to the next STOP adoption day at Canine Creek on Saturday, April 5th. More beautiful, loving dogs will be available. Don't forget.... Saturday, April 5th is also Canine Creek's 4th annual Birthday Bash pet charity fundraiser. We will be donating 100% of our bathing proceeds to the Doberman SOS rescue, 100% of nail trimming fees will be donated to STOP, and four local rescues will be in attendance showing off their adoptable fur friends. There will be a variety of vendors in our parking lot, tons of raffle prizes, and entertainment by country singer Tony Vice. It's an all day event (10am to 6pm) so bring a dirty dog and come on down to support Tehachapi's pet rescues. For more info, http://www.caninecreek.com/... 3 comments from 3 users

Wow! What a wonderful day yesterday! I'm very happy that four Canine Canyon Ranch dogs got adopted (inlcuding the very last one of Ellie's cute puppies)-and the new boxer/shepherd who was running loose in Alpine Forest wasn't even there for 1/2 hour and he has a new home too! Thanks to all of you volunteers that were there walking dogs, working on manners, playing with them and telling people about our STOP mission. I didn't even have time to eat my lunch! Three hours went by in a blur of wonderful people wanting dogs. I am very much looking forward to next Saturday's Adoption Day at Canine Creek and hope even more dogs will get new homes. My house feels empty with only eight dogs!! Leslie at Canine Canyon Ranch Rescue posted by

Will there be a fairly quiet place to bring kittens for their shots and microchips? I'll need to bring my little guy, adopted about a month and a half ago from the Humane Society. Oh, and about the microchipping: my other kitty was chipped in Manhattan Beach and I'll need to change the info on her chip. Can I do that at the birthday bash? posted by

Hi Christibdce - Our neighboring business, BSE Rents, has been kind enough to loan us a 20 foot construction office trailer for the Birthday Bash event. We normally hold shot/nail clinics in the store, but event day is rather hectic, so Dr. Dave and Janice will be working in the trailer. I can't say it will be quiet, but your cats should be OK if you bring them in a secure carrier. We usually have cats and large birds come to our monthly clinics. If you have questions about microchipping, feel free to call Shellie at the shop Monday thru Friday. The number is 822-0307 and we're open 10am to 6pm. I believe you will have to change your chip registration with the company that made it (Avid? Home Again?) If you're not sure who that is, perhaps Shellie can offer some advice.
