Following is a message from a family in Santa Clarita.  If you can help find a home for this dog, please contact the owners, Stacey and Ben, at the email listed at the bottom of the post.  Thank you.  Susie Atherton,  Canine Creek

Hello everyone,
It is with a heavy heart that I write this. We are looking for a home that doesn't have small children or small dogs for my male Shepard mix. On Wednesday night, he attacked my male min pin, by grabbing him by the neck, shaking him three times and throwing him across the room. (think of a coyote attack!) I immediately rushed him to the vet, where I was told that he would be ok. His leather collar saved his life. His bites to the neck missed his jugular vein by less than 1cm. He would have bled out if it hit his vein. The collar kept the teeth from going in deeper. The attack was unprovoked, it wasn't over food or anything else. We are keeping them separated from each other. He has tried to attack him again.

My husband and I have three small children ages 15mths, 3, and 6 years old. My husband has said that he fears for the safety of our children, since his behavior has been unpredictable for awhile. Our vet agreed with us that a new home would be best. We would love to find him a new home. I refuse to take him to a shelter. He is a great watch dog, is house and crate trained. He does get along with other dogs, just not small dogs anymore. We live in Santa Clarita, California, if you know of anyone who lives in CA and would be willing to give him a home please email me. It breaks my heart to have to do this, but the safety of my family has to come first. If anyone can help us find him a home please email me at traskpack@sbcglobal.net.  Thanks, Stacey

A very nice female chocolate Labrador Retriever found wandering on Valley Blvd just east of Tucker Road today.  She was wearing a prong collar, but had no ID or microchip.  She has been taken to Canine Canyon Ranch dog rescue.  If this is your dog, please call Leslie at 661-823-0111.

Rick and Sue Seaman from Bear Valley Springs will be bringing some of their rescued dogs to Canine Creek Dog Wash & Boutique on Saturday, November 17th from 10am to 2pm to try and find them permanent homes.  If you have room in your house and heart for a lifetime friend, please stop by the store that day and see the dogs available for adoption.  Canine Creek is located at 979 Valley Blvd on the corner of Valley Blvd & Tucker Road in the ReMax complex.  If you have questions about the dogs available, please call the Seaman's directly at 821-2070.

Have you lost a pet?  Following are three animals that have been found in Tehachapi this week:

11/14/07 - Siamese looking cat with tag that reads “Leona” but is a male.  Found at the corner of Valley Blvd and Curry St.  Please call 822-5770.

11/13/07 - German Shepherd, female, about 2-4 years old with a black harness was turned into the Tehachapi Vet Hospital.  The dog is black and tan and appears to be well trained. She was hit by a car and has injuries.  The German Shepherd rescue may take the dog in a couple if the owner is not found.  The number of the rescue is 818-558-7560.  Before then, contact the Tehachapi Vet Hospital to claim her.

11/10/07 - Female white and gray Husky found in Bear Valley Springs.  Probably about 3 years old.  She was taken to the Mojave shelter, and her ID number is A704280.  It is unknown if the dog has a microchip, as she was not scanned before being taken to the shelter.  To claim this dog, call the Mojave shelter at 661-824-1030.

This very nice un-neutered male Bassett was just brought to our shop.  He was found in the area of Tompkins Elementary School with no collar, tags or a microchip.  If anyone knows who he belongs to, please have them call Michelle (Canine Creek's Assistant Manager) at 661-972-5990, or the store at 661-822-0307.  She has been kind enough to foster him, so he has a safe house for tonight, at least.

It's early Sunday morning, I'm checking out the blogs over a cup of coffee, and just ran across your post "Can we share a little of the good" from October 7th.  I wanted to say thank you for your very sweet comments.  I don't know who you are, but you made my day!  :-)
