This time, I was awake and felt them, lol. Anyone else? Does anyone know what date the Farmer's Market will begin this year? I'm hoping for the Thursday before Memorial weekend, because my Mom is coming up for her birthday, and she really wants to go to one of those (and how often can you get a Thursday off?) : O) Is there somewhere that has a listing of adult classes and activities in Tehachapi? Recreational classes (cooking, painting, etc.), good for meeting new people and having some fun. I purchased a small 5'x4' shed online for my backyard. I need someone to build a level, simple wood-frame floor/foundation for it. It's not a permit-needed situation, so I don't need a licensed contractor or anything. I even have plans from the shed manufacturer on how to do it. I just don't have the power tools or extra set of hands needed to build it. I need some recommendations on someone who would be able to do a good job for a fair price. I'll only consider someone who is honest (by reputation and given references) and will do the work within a couple of weeks from now. Again, they don't have to be licensed or anything, just skilled and fair. Is there anyone that can help me figure out a composting system? I'm single, with a tiny yard, so it's not practical for me to have a huge 3 compartment bin that's 8' by 4' by 12', lol. What I'm looking for is something small and easy that will help me be a little greener and help my garden be its best. I'm going to keep looking for solutions online, but if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. So far, i've only found large property appropriate compost ideas.
I am going to be re-doing my tiny backyard. Currently in shambles, the small space will hopefully soon have a lovely bit of grass and a small veggie garden. I've purchase the Gardener's Bible, which will help me figure out what to plant. I just have one question: Which "zone" are we considered to be in here in Tehachapi? I hear there is a hiking group for Christians in town, with a name like "Hikers for Jesus" or something. Anyone have any info?

Oh my gosh. What a horrible shock. He was only 28.
You may say, "Who cares?" The reasons I am so affected: 1) I watched him become famous, and then a really good actor. Since he was close to my age, it was like "growing up" with him, almost. I'm sure you have stars you feel like that about. 2) He is my brothers' age. 3) I JUST watched "10 Things I Hate About You" and remembered how much I liked him back then, and I was totally looking forward to seeing him branch out again in "The Dark Knight." His family (especially his daughter) are in my prayers.
Ok, I'm wondering what people do for exercise year round around here, besides the gyms around town. Are there any running/bicycling/etc. groups or anything like that? All I really know about is the softball league run by Parks and Rec. Are there any other sports type things going on?
