Hiking, topo maps, etc.

I'm looking for some topo maps of the area.  Anyone know where I can buy those in town?  Also, I'd like some advice on the different kinds of trails nearby (good running trails, walking trails, hard hiking trails, etc.).  And I'm always looking for hiking and backpacking buddies!

If you can help with any of these things, please reply.

Here is a great archive of free USGS topos, they can be downloaded and printed.  The 7.5 minute provide the most detail.  Tehachapi is in the range of 35,118.

If you are a Mac user, there is a great program called MacGPS Pro.  You can import the USGS topos and mosaic them, and add in waypoints and tracks from a gps.

National Geographic makes a waterproof paper for inkjet printers and map printing.

I haven't done much hiking around Tehachapi, most of my hiking has been done in BVS.  I've made a website, (that is over due for some updates!) of the hiking trails in BVS.  It's not complete yet, my work schedule has prevented me from hiking for quite a while.  I love hiking but it's been years since I've backpacked, modern life has gotten in the way of having fun!
