Looking for an exercise buddy/group to help me get back into shape
I'm looking for a reliable, motivational person or group to help me get back into shape.  I was active in high school and college, but for the last couple of years I've been a little lax.  I'm not overweight or new to exercise, but I am out of shape.  I'm playing softball in the adult league right now, and I play games with with junior highers and high school youth at work, but that's about it.

Running would be great, though you'd have to patient with my skill level to get started.  Or, if you have exercise equipment at home, that would be fine, too.   If you already belong to a gym and want to be my accountability partner, that might work (I can afford $30/month or less).   Three to six days a week (depending on our schedules and our wants), mostly at about 6:30 am is the regimen I was thinking.  It would be a bonus if you'd be willing to come knock on my door to start the morning (btw, I live in town). : O)

For my safety, I'm not looking for a lone male to "apply" for this position, for fairly obvious reasons (especially if you'll be knocking on my door at odd hours, lol).  I'd prefer a female, or a small mixed group or couple is fine.

Well that sucks for me.

I just read your profile.  Are you still looking to recert your cpr.  You can call Tehachapi Hospital at 822-3241 and talk to Gayle at ext 201,  If you get her voice mail, leave your name and number and she will call you back.

I could walk with you, but I can't run.  And you'd have to deal with a possibly fussy baby trailing along.  Not to thrilling of a prospect... I know :)  But if you're interested, shoot me a message.

THSpride...Sorry!  Thanks for trying, though.

Olivia... Thanks for the info!  I will do that sometime.

Madkow... Thanks for your enthusiasm : O)  I am looking to get into something a little more strenuous than walking, though.  But I really do appreciate your offer!

Also, I am interested in peoples' opinions of the local gyms.  There's 3, right?  Curves, Fitness Zone, and Boomers (I'm not sure if that one is men only or what?).  Anyone know about these?  Price, equipment, any classes offered, etc.?

I have a membership to I think its called Anytime Fitness... can't remember the name exactly.  It's off Mill, a street south of Home Despot.  I remember thinking it was a little pricey, but I like that it's open to members 24 hours and there's a lot of pretty decent equipment.  You can just go in and work on anything you like.  At Curves, it's like circuit training- blah!  Fitness Zone was the cheapest, but they didn't have much equipment and it was really small.  It was kinda creepy in there (can't explain why, it just felt weird in there).
