Heath Ledger Dies
Oh my gosh. What a horrible shock. He was only 28.
You may say, "Who cares?" The reasons I am so affected: 1) I watched him become famous, and then a really good actor. Since he was close to my age, it was like "growing up" with him, almost. I'm sure you have stars you feel like that about. 2) He is my brothers' age. 3) I JUST watched "10 Things I Hate About You" and remembered how much I liked him back then, and I was totally looking forward to seeing him branch out again in "The Dark Knight." His family (especially his daughter) are in my prayers. 15 comments from 12 users

Fox news is reporting that he died of an apparent drug overdose possibly sleeping pills. I really didn't care for his movies. Rumor has it that his role in the next Batman movie was some of his best work. 28 is too young die. posted by

Thats what happens when you do drugs folks. YOU DIE! His life was in his own hands and he chose to take it. I don't feel sorry for him one bit. posted by

Actually that isn't what happens when you do drugs, that is what happens when you do TOO many drugs. I wasn't a big fan at all of Heath but I think it is sad and tragic to see someones life end so suddenly and at such a young age. Just goes to show you that you never know when your number will be called so enjoy every moment you have. posted by

Oh my god i can't believe that Heath is dead. He was so sexy oh I loved him. He was my fave Actor. His role in Brokeback mountain was terrific and it was the best movie of all time. Well maybe not all time but it was up there with the Birdcage and Rent. R.I.P. Heath. Love rainbowman posted by

Yes, I have compassion. Compassion for his family, especially his 2-year old daughter, who now has no father. Yes, it is sad that he had a substance abuse problem. However, I do NOT have compassion for people who throw their lives away. If he died of an overdose, whether he meant to or not, he killed himself. His death was not tragic....what is tragic is a family who gets stabbed to death on x-mas eve or a 17-year old getting mauled to death by a tiger, that is tragic. A millionaire junkie who overdoses is not tragic. Elvis, Marilyn, Anna Nicole, STOP GLAMOURIZING JUNKIES! When will people learn??? posted by

I find it sad that people want to push their own agendas and pass judgment on a person they never met. It saddens me that Heath Ledger died because he was a gifted actor, but more so because he was a father. From all indications, Heath wasn't involved in self destructive behavior before his death ala Ana Nicole Smith, Elvis, or Chris Farley. It appears he was suffering from a cold, (Maybe Walking Pneumonia) was having trouble sleeping, and may have had a reaction (that made his lungs stop breathing) to a combination of sleeping pills or prescribed medication. Perhaps he over did it on medication, not to get high, but maybe he thought it would help him get better. And when you over do it with any drug, legal or otherwise, it can be very dangerous. By the way THERE WERE NO ILLEGAL DRUGS FOUND IN HIS APARTMENT! Before anybody gets on their soap box, wait until the toxicology reports come back. posted by

I think we can all agree that any death at such a young age is a tragedy. No matter what happened (which we don't have all the facts on yet), we can appreciate the talent that Heath Ledger brought to his craft. And I think we can all send prayers and thoughts out to his daughter and other family. Let's try and keep it positive, if not objective, please.
