Adult Classes and Activities

Is there somewhere that has a listing of adult classes and activities in Tehachapi?  Recreational classes (cooking, painting, etc.), good for meeting new people and having some fun.

I don't know of one specific location to find information on all classes and activities in Tehachapi, but I would contact individual businesses.  The art store (can't think of the actual name!!) on S. Mojave St, across the street from the Apple Shed would probably have some type of classes.  Also, the scrapbooking store has several classes a month on various topics -- not always scrapbooking, but other paper crafts too. My church has Bible studies on Tues nights and Fri mornings... I would imagine there are studies all over town to fit your schedule. Parks and Rec might offer classes.... their website is www.tvrpd.org, but the website is down right now.  Their office is at the park behind Kmart.  Wish I could think of something else! Wanna join my Bunco group?

What exactly is Bunco?  I've always wondered.

Now if anyone knows about playgroups, I'd love to join one of those!  I've seen playgroups through Parks and Rec, but if I remember right, they were for kids that were a little older.  I think they had to be potty trained first.  And if there isn't one- anyone that wants to start one for the little guys and girls, let me know :)

Madkow - Bunco is a dice game. There are 6 rounds, and each round you try to roll a different number. It's a lot of fun, and requires absolutely no skill or knowledge to play!  I think it's kinda like women's bridge or bingo groups from 'yesteryear' ... and just a chance for us to all get together without the kids and husbands and have 2 hours of adult conversation a month!

As for playgroups... I know there is a group the meets at McDonalds on Wednesdays at noon. There are all age kids. I think they go to the park when the weather is nice, but have been meeting at McD's for the winter. I've never gone, but happened to be there one Wed and there were kids crawling to almost school age there.  Got very loud and crazy!!!

Sunshine, I would love to join a Bunco group.  I played it once down in Rosamond where I used to live and had a blast.  I was to be the next "hostess" but the day we were scheduled to play, there were several fires in Leona Valley and a lot of the gals were concerned for their family homes so we cancelled and never got around to scheduling another one and then the next thing you know, everyone had moved or something.  So, next time you need another player to make 8 or 12 just let me know.
