Any truth to the rumor...?
I've heard we may be getting Trader Joe's in Tehachapi.  Does anyone know if that's true?  Where would I find info about incoming businesses (I couldn't find any on the Chamber of Commerce website)?  There's lots of growth going on, and I'd like to keep up-to-date : O)

It's my understanding that Trader joe's looks for a greater area population base of 500,000 before locating a store in a community. But a cat can dream...

Oh, I am hoping and praying for a Trader Joe's.  It's so hard to eat naturally from a grocery store on a budget.  At Trader Joe's, the prices are great and you know there aren't any preservatives and other yucky things.  Plus, their caramelized onion and cheese tarts are to die for!  Not to mention, the Two Buck Chuck.

The Trader Joe's website doesn't show any stores closer than Bakersfield.  It lists five stores opening soon, but none in Tehachapi.

Thanks for the info.  I think, though, that they wouldn't have announced anything officially yet on their site.  What I heard was that they were still negotiating about land and such, so it's still very premature.  I'm not arguing with you, just trying to keep my own hopes alive, lol.

Trader Joes won't be coming here. No way! But if you need a nice candle, check out the new shop by Don Pericos. I just wish they would stay open past 5pm.

Yes, I would love a Trader Joe's too.  My wife and I shop there quite a bit in Santa Clarita where we live most of the time.

There's a Trader Joe's in San Luis Obispo and also one in Arroyo Grande, I donno if those areas have a population base >500,000...anyway, has anyone heard about whether or not Wal-Mart is coming to Tehachapi?

Ugh, I hope not.  We need a step UP, not a step down from K Mart.  I'm hoping for a Target.

Yes, I have to agree about Wal-Mart.  I can't stand them for many reasons, mainly for their business practices among other things.
