countygirl - > Wake up Tehachapi !! -> Fireworks?
Fireworks?
So I was just noticing our poll over here to the right about fireworks and the majority said they "Have to have them!" I thought fireworks were against the law here? I mean I think a VERY few are allowed, but most aren't.  This makes me kind of nervous with the fires popping up all around us. So whatever you do please stay safe and ONLY use legal fireworks. I'll try to find out what those are and post them. If someone else knows please feel free to post them!!

Countygirl:

As far as I know they are all illegal in Tehachapi, and any use of fireworks in our area given the dry brush conditions would be insane.

Christine- This is what I was told also, and what I had thought to begin with, but I was confused because I saw what looked like fireworks for sale at the store yesterday.

All fireworks are illegal in Tehachapi.  When my son was younger we would go to Mojave or Bakersfield and have a fireworks party down there.  I think Bakersfield made them illegal a couple years ago.

I lived in Tehachapi from 1976 ~ 2004.  There were NEVER fireworks sold or allowed.  We got the wonderful fireworks display.  back then it was in JJHS field, then it was at the rodeo grounds, then out by the post office, i dont know where they are now.  Havent been there in a few years.
