countygirl - > Wake up Tehachapi !! -> What's Going On?
What's Going On?

I went to wash my car and there was a CHP with a huge gun at the drive in by Henry's. There were also sheriff's all over the place with guns!

Needless to say I didn't wash my car! I'm a little freaked out right now.

Sounds like a hold up, maybe someone here will have more info?

I am out of the area at work at the moment. Anybody got an update for Coungirl?

The CHP you saw is my friend. Delgado's Jewelry Store was just robbed and they are looking for the last of three guys in the housing tract behind Bank of the West. They caught the other two jack asses already. I understand the CHP is in the parking lot of the bank right now.

Thanks for the info. Blaze. What's up with the robberies lately? I thought Tehachapi was a sleepy town with little crime? We need to kick these criminals to the curb! C~

Thanks for the update Blaze! Thank your friend for me too! :) They did this in broad daylight? I'm assuming that by the size of their guns this person is armed? I hope he gets apprehended soon, and everyone stays safe.

Well it certainly used to be! I've been here since 1988 and we never had any major crime until about the last 5 years. That's about when the big growth started. What a coincidence! My wife works at a bank in town. I'm sure it will only be a matter of time until it gets knocked off.

I will thank my friend for you countygirl. I forgot to ask if he was armed but I can't imagine robbing a jewelry store without a weapon. I'll bet they will get him. They have the helicopter out there too. You probably saw it.

The cops are now gone from the housing track but i still hear the helicopter so i wonder if the caught the person or not? I live accross the street from the car wash/henry's and i hear sirens and looked out and there were all these cop cars in the field. I knew it had to be something serious going on.

Glad this blog system is on here, we are all staying informed. Glad countygirl is ok... hope they cath the person soon if they havent already...

Actually they are still in fact in the housing track just not as visible.  My parents live there.  They were hopping from backyard to backyard searching a little earlier.  I just hope the guy is not in someones house.

Gosh i hope the person is not in someones home. That would be terrible for someone to go through. I know my doors are locked and the dog is in here with me ( i live accross the street). Kinda a scarey thing. Hope they get the person soon...

Ok we just had this happen right. The County cops responded with at lest 8 cop cars,  a helicopter and a CSI unit. Coming this next June will we get the same with the new City Police Department?
posted by TK on Jan 24, 2007 at 11:19 PM

We won't get anything near that kind of response from the City Police.  They will call in the County S.O. to assist, so we will have the troops come in.  And we will pay them for it.
