Happy Halloween!

So what are your plans for the evening?  Are you doing anything? What are your lil' ones dressing up as?

I think the fam and I will go to the Trunk or Treat deal in town. Makes life a lot easier when you've got a bunch of young ones.  I've got a Sleeping Beauty, a bull rider(cowboy) and a cowboy this year. Speaking of......Does anyone know where you can get a metal gun? You know for a cowboy. I've looked for one and all I keep finding is "Nurf" looking stuff.

My little ones will be going to the Harvest Festival at Country Oaks Baptist Church. I have a chef, a princess, and cowgirl. The Trunk-or-Treat sounded fun, but we really enjoyed the Harvest Festival last year... carnival games, hay ride, bounce house and cake walk.  It runs from 6-8pm -- 20915 Schout Rd. I believe it is No Costumes though....

We'll also visit the Real Estate offices around town this afternoon :)  I heard they are all doing something from 3-5.

Happy Halloween to all! And Sam, I wouldn't mind a visit from Elvira at all- she always made me laugh!

Think of it as a "fringe" benefit Joty.

This is the first year that we aren't taking a kid trick-r-treating. The youngest one now says that he's to old to go trick-r-treating. Olivia is happy about it shes been doing it for 24 years and she says that's she is done with it. Me I'm kinda bummed out about it. Halloween has aways been a fun holiday for me. It always takes me back to when i was a kid. We live in golden hills and we don't get many ghosts and goblins out are way. There are times when i wished that i was a kid again and Halloween is one of those times. Have a fun Halloween.

Here are my boys this year.  The youngest wasn't to happy at first but he got use to it.  My oldest of course of Optimus Prime and was picking out a wedgie.  I tried to get him to take another picture but he wanted to go.  I told him everyone is going to see him picking his butt, and he says "well, everyone does it sometimes, lets go mom!"  The difference between boys and girls are amazing.

Absolutely precious pictures Colitas!  I'm laughing my azz off about the wedgie picture, it's great and that he doesn't care too!  Cool.

I really liked the pirate themed one and the one that was done up like a ladybug was cute. I actually didn't get a real good look at the ones on the east side of the street.  No one could beat the fire engine though. :) I'm glad they went. They weren't there when we first got there. The kids were getting a kick out of blowing the air horn to!

So for those that went to the Trunk or Treat ....any comments?

I think the concept was great, BUT I think they need to extend it a bit next year. It seemed like everything and everyone was jammed together. If they extend it further south on Green St. next year I think it would help things flow a bit easier. also, I loved seeing many adults dressed up! Being a kid at heart this will give me an excuse to dress up with the kids next year! :) I wore a wig, a hat, and some reading glasses last night. I want really dressed as something although I resembled Brittany Spears................on a good day! lol Does she have those?

Oh, and thank you for the suggestions. I ended up finding a gun at the 99 cent store, it was bright green but at least it looked like a normal gun. It didn't need to look real. I just wanted something that didn't look like it came from outer space! :)

Countygirl I'm glad you found a gun to go with your sons cowboy costume, having the right things that go's with a costume is important especially when your a kid. You want to look real.

Two of my kid's went to the trunk-or-treat and they said that it was really crowded and that the lines to each trunk was long. They did say that it was fun but it needed to be bigger with more trunks and more candy. I like the concept of making Halloween a safe community oriented affair. Still nothing beats real trick-or-treating in my book.

The pirate ship was my favorite too, well, yeah, after the fire engine of course.I agree on spreading it all out,it was so packed that it was hard for us to enjoy it.I think that adding an old fashioned indoor carnival nearby, like at the gym, would be fun and divert some of the crowd so that everyone wouldn't be at the same place at the same time.A great first year for the event though, and I'm sure that many more people will want to participate next year and it should be even better with some adjustments made.

Bigdog, next year you should enter a vehicle and have fun decorating it and handing out candy, you could still enjoy Halloween that way.You could dress up and Olivia could scratch your face up and you could be the scary, bloody, obnoxious guy!
