Oil In Your Water?
Hey, I was just wondering if anyone else in the city had to flush their lines last  Fri. the 26th due to oil being in the water. I live on Curry. I was told not to shower in, wash my clothes, or drink(not that I ever do!) the water for several hours and to flush my lines. I was told the oil in the water was due to a dried up well. I was just curious if this happened to anyone else in the area and if the info about the well was true or not.

I don't live in that area so I didn't experience anything like that. But I hope they are going to give you a credit on your bill for the water you had to use to flush out their contaminated water!

Babydoll- I'm renting right now in the Meadow apts. across the street from the fire station.  I'm not sure how long it lasted because I actually left town Fri. and didn't get back until later Sun. My landlord was the one who informed me. I could tell it was in my water after she had said something. I had black specks floating in my toilet and stuck to my sinks.

Blaze- Thankfully I don't have to worry about that at the moment! :)

Babydoll, please use bottled water only for your formula and baby drinks. I would hate to see anything happen to your precious little one  I personally only drink bottled water, You never know, so  I'd rather be safe than sorry!  We also have that Cement plant on the 58 that emits mercury, so I wouldn't trust the tap in town for your baby.

I only drink bottled water, and I have a brita filter on my tap, so actually I use filtered tap water for her.  Thanks for the concern!

YIKES! Now you've got me wondering. I live in Blair Ranch, right off of curry. I never received any information regarding oil in the water lines. Usually, I drink bottled water but I will use tap water to boil certain foods. My entire family experienced flu like symptoms last week. Maybe is was just the flu, but who knows?

This kind of sounds like a building issue (e.g., someone was working on the lines in the building, etc.). The only reason I say that is that the Landlord informed you but no one from the City did, and there was not any other prominent notice in the media. I would ask the Landlord where he/she got the information and from whom. That information would be good to post here so we know there is not some general problem. P.S. Just to add this comment--I did see the City posted a notice on the News web site regarding flushing the lines due to sediment on Jan 26.
