countygirl - > Wake up Tehachapi !! -> FYI 7-24-08
FYI 7-24-08

If you're working, eating, playing, or  just staying home near town tomorrow...you're probably going to see a lot of smoke. This is a scheduled burn and there is no need to be alarmed. I didn't see a notice of this anywhere so I figured I'd just post a little something here so you'd all have a heads up!

Is this the little house on 202 and mountain view? I saw them boarding up the windows yesterday.

Mimi, I saw a sign that read it was the future site of Tehachapi Medical Clinic. I love old houses and buildings, it just kills me when history is torn down. I still miss the 'big green barn' - Nunes - over on Valley and Dennison.

So, CG, are they burning that cute little house? Or is it another place going up in smoke?

Thanks for the heads up, CG!

I know Joty - I hate it when they take out old houses and buildings too. When you see them over and over through the years, it's almost disorienting to seem them bulldozed or burned and find something else in their place. I'm one of those people that drives around by landmarks rather than street names so I'm going to be pretty much lost here soon. lol

It's going to be Dr. Pesche's new office.  Not only is the house going bye bye but so are the two very tall and very old trees in front of the house. I understand the city is making  then cut down the trees.

Mimi, I'm w/ you on directions.;   " You know where it is!!! Remember that one time that Bo Bo's, steer got colick, & kept runnin' in circles around those two trees?'   ....."Yeah, right there!'

Gube, do you know what the reasoning is behind cutting down old growth trees?

Joty I talked to Dr Pesche a month or so about his new office. I was interested in the location because my friend Sam was found dead there about a year ago. somebody has set up a little shrine for Sam and I was asking him if the shrine was coming down. He said no that the shrine was not placed on his property. He then said that he is expecting some fall out when the two old trees in front of the house are cut down. I asked him why they were being cut down and he said that the city was making him cut them down...........I wish now that I would have asked him why.

I had always wondered about that shrine also...so that's not on that property? I just can't believe anyone would cut down those trees!

Sam was found dead by one of the out houses behind the house.......The first shrine was taken down by the owners of the property so I guess they set up another shrine on the adjacent property to honor Sam.................I can't believe that they would cut down the trees either................

hmmm, Sam any more news about that? Oh Gube...you know Sam?  Interesting

Me and my boy went and checked out the fire...............It was interesting to watch

Jewels when I got there the shrine for Sam had been taken down...........When I was leaving I noticed this woman holding the white wooden cross From Sam's shrine.........So I drove up to her and she was all emotional and crying...............She said that she was Sam's girlfriend and that she was the one who put up the shrine...............She came to take it down so that it wouldn't get destroyed......................She said she was glad to see that house burnt down.................It was sad!

yeah...i know that woman....geez!!! anyway, if you are interested 08/16 at the club up in Tehachapi (Sat Night) i am taking my 4 years. Oh and the shrine she put up, did you ever walk up to it and read what she wrote on it? Trippy.  I miss Sam.  I just found a medallion he gave me back in the day with praying hands on one side and the Serenity Prayer on the other.  I just wish he would have made it back into the rooms.
