This is going to be a bit of rant, but I've just been so annoyed lately.  It seems like more and more I am expected to do peoples jobs for them. More specifically in the medical/ billing/insurance fields. It used to be if someone canceled on you they'd reschedule you. They would see if you had coverage for something and then let you know the results. If they couldn't right at that moment they'd get back to you. They'd pay attention to the tiny details that save you hundreds of dollars and you wouldn't have to call people over and over to set everything straight in order to do so.  Whatever happened to follow ups? ( For the record this isn't about my doctors office they are wonderful and I've NEVER had any of this happen there.)  Is it just me or are you doing other peoples jobs for them to?

The Knights of Columbus, in cooperation with the Kern County Fire Department, are collecting canned goods and toys for their annual Christmas Baskets for Needy Families program.

Fire Engineer Michael Veiga, a co-chairman for the Knight’s program, said that monetary or food donations may be made at any one of three local fire stations. Toys do not need to be wrapped and food items may be placed in grocery bags or boxes.

The Knights delivered food baskets to 138 needy families last year. Veiga said that donations are already pouring in and this may prove to be a banner year for the project.

Checks should be made payable to the Knights of Columbus Christmas Basket Fund, and can be mailed to P.O. Box 204, Tehachapi CA. 93581.

If you or your family are in need of food for Christmas dinner, please register at St. Malachy’s office or Fire Station 12 at 800 S. Curry St.

In addition to Station 12, donated items may be dropped at Station 16, 28946 Bear Valley Rd., Bear Valley Springs, or Station 18, 28381 Braeburn Pl., Stallion Springs.

I received this in an email and thought I'd pass it along to those of you that would find this info helpful in your choices of what to see this holiday season. I also checked it out at snopes.....it's 100% true.

This is a warning about an upcoming "kids" movie coming out in
December.

THE GOLDEN COMPASS, a new movie targeted at children, will be released
December 7, 2007. This movie is based on the first book of a trilogy
by
atheist Philip Pullman. In the final book a boy and girl kill God so
they can do as they please.

Pullman left little doubt about his intentions when he said in a 2003
interview that "My books are about killing
God."

The movie is a watered down version of the first book and is
designed to be very attractive in the hope that unsuspecting parents
will take their children to see the the movie, and that children will
want the books for Christmas.

The movie has a well-known cast, including Nicole Kidman, Kevin Bacon,
and Sam Elliott. It will probably
be advertised extensively, so we are getting the info out so people can make an informed decision on this film.

You can research this for yourself @ snopes.com

I just came across this article and it is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. I could understand if this was a make out session or something , but a hug. Give me a break! What are your thoughts on this? Are things being taken to far?

Does anyone know if the Sec.8 was approved? I just noticed( on the agenda) that there were some complexes approved to be built off of Pinion. Does anyone know if these will be Sec. 8? I've been looking at  homes around in that area and if this was going to be in the area I wouldn't consider moving there. Any info would be helpful. Thank You!
