ONE ambulance in Tehachapi???
Recently i have seen alot of articles written about a new police station in Golden Hills and the City adding their own police force. This is great because Tehachapi needs more law enforcement with the population growth. My concern is also for the Ambulance services in Tehachapi. To my knowledge there is only ONE ambulance permantly stationed to cover Tehachapi and all the surrounding area's such as Golden Hills, Stallion Springs, Bear Valley, Alpine Forest, and etc. I don't know how many ambulances are needed with what the population amount is but it seems like ONE is not enough for our entire population. Another concern with only having one ambulance is what if there is more than one emergency situation? Which situation has to wait for another ambulance from another area to arrive? It could be a matter of life and death if one had to wait for a ambulance to arrive from another area such as Mojave, California city, or Boron. I think the people of Tehachapi need to take a stand and get another ambulance in this area before it costs someone their life..

The Tehachapi News will feature a story about Kern County's recently adopted ambulance ordinance in next week's issue, with commentary by Kern County Supervisor Don Maben and Ross Elliott, director of the Kern County Emergency Medical Services Department. We have held this story so that our reporter could get Elliot's input to more fully address the issues specifically concerning Tehachapi.
